President Barack Obama is expected to approve a new constellation of highly classified multi-billion dollar spy satellites in the next few days, injecting a major new expenditure into the Defense Department budget that was not planned when the administration began its budget deliberations.

The debate between the intelligence community and the military over this system has been particularly sharp. In the words of one Hill source familiar with the issue. “A deep path has been worn between the Pentagon on this one,” the source said.

Well, isn't this interesting. Let's start speculating what this might be.
Project Bluebeam perhaps as some might believe, just some more spy satellites to replace the old ones, some offspring of StarWars with some sort of orbital weapons platforms, etc.
What do you guys think about this one?
I'd be interested if this turned out to be something with orbital weapons platforms like nuclear weapons in space or some sort of satellite with a laser built in like the jetliner Boeing put together with the Airforce.

Except instead of using tungsten rods there are some that claim ceramic heat shield tipped nickle-iron rods would work just as good and be imposable to prove they were not real meteorites.

Scenario 1 the north Koreans have massed there army just north of the DMZ and start a massive artillery bombardment as the troops start to enter the DMZ.
15 minutes later a number of white hot glowing objects come raining down one every couple miles wiping out large numbers of the troops and artillery pieces with blasts that look like small nuclear bombs going off but without radiation. War Over

Scenario 2 ether north Korea or Iran fires a nuclear weapon at another country. 15 minutes later a number of white hot glowing objects take out the launch sites and the deep leadership bunker of the country. War Over

Scenario 3 Osama Bin laden makes a phone call from the entrance of his cave on a satellite phone and 15 minutes later the place he called from looks like a nuke hit it with a 250 foot crater killing everyone within 2000 feet.
No warning and no chance to run. terrorist dead and his people S**ting them selves wondering why god rained down a bolt of lightning on there leader.

I'm skeptical it would be so tidy.

Partly because the oligarchy is determined to make things as messy and deadly as possible for as many masses as possible.

And the last thing they would see in a bright lightning bolt coming right at them.

People a few miles away would swear the target was hit by a giant white lightning bolt from the sky.
The sound would be the same also.

These Rods from God would be traveling at 36000 feet per second (approx 11 km/s when they hit.
that means from space 50 miles/80 km to ground would take about 7 seconds.
3 sec from 100,000 feet that would be just enough time to bend over and kiss your a** goodbye.
