What is next a gift certificate for Itunes? I honestly think this man has no class what so ever, he could have put a little thought in to a gift to be given to a queen.

This is not about the value at all its about the thought that was put in to it he could have spent 2 grand on a 50 inch plasma TV and it would still lack Class!

Maybe lacking "class" is the point. The Queen is aristocracy and royalty combined. Given Obama's relatively modest background, why should he have to get all bourgeosie for the Queen's pleasure? Would a gift of embroidered slippers have satisfied you?

Does it really matter what the gift was? Her's was an older one. I think it's a nice gesture. It's the thought that counts. People are so consumed with the value of something rather than the gesture. The Queen probably has everything she could possibly want so what do you suggest he get her?

Who said anyting about VALUE. It would have been more thoughtful and caring if he sat down, pulled out the crayons and colored her a picture and gave her THAT.
