Desperate times, I suppose. It was 3 AM though, couldn't he have just left her at home to sleep? If things had gotten ugly, she could have gotten hurt.

That may have been the point, though. Maybe he thought people would be less likely to shoot if he had his daughter there.

Still, it's sad, and maddening. Makes me wonder what exactly made him think of doing this.
