Strange u2u behavior

My U2U! keeps saying I have a new U2U, except when I click on U2U, there is nothing new.
Also the other day it showed a message I had already read(one of those admin mass U2U's), as unread.
Been happening for a while now.

One other issue that caused the u2u lit deal for me, occurred when someone would send me JacKatMtn, a u2u but didn't put the caps correclty in my membername.

If the used jackatmn, I would get the u2u just fine, but until I deleted the message, my u2u alert would always remain lit, moving the message to saved folder wouldn't help, I tried that. deletion was the only way for my situation.

Not sure if that has been corrected, but that could be the cause for some of you.

I have had the issue with the light staying on...but only ever from one member....every U2U from this member does it. I have to delete her message for it to go off.
(Sorry bloggy)

And I am not sure reading your outbox marks the recipienrs as read...I have read my outbox in the past and it hasnt happened.....

That could explain why a certain person isn't getting some of my u2u's as well.

I know. Part of the issue is the inconsistency of the result. It doesn't ALWAYS happen. But happen it does. Why? I have no idea. Maybe related to the capitalization thing, maybe not. Technology in general baffles me. Given the complexity, rather than surprise at the glitches I find it amazing that it ever works at all.

Sorry I wont u2u you anymore.

The one time this happened I just deleted some random u2us and it went away (the u2u "light" )

You reading your outbox doesn't clear it. I think when the other person opens the message it marks it read on your end. That's how you know if they received it.

I tried to send a U2U tonight, and when I clicked on Send it went back to an empty message box, with the recipient name filled in as "Zapho".

I'm just glad we have U2U. What an awesome feature, regardless how buggy.

I got a u2u informing me that mimer has added me as his foe. I don't know mimer and I'm not on his foes list. And yes, I have the self-addressed u2u also. Whose brilliant work was that?!

ATS automatically alerts you when someone puts you on their friends or foe list. Some users like to just add people to their lists if they disagree with you. I've got a couple such 'foes'.
