Wow, what a coincidence right?!........
Doesn't this seem a little suspicious to anyone? I wonder if something big happens during the G20 summit as the so-called "terror alert" will have you believe?
If (god forbid) something happens, there will be much less chance of having any kind of surveillance.
Perhaps if something does happen, people will cry out for yet more CCTV that will never be switched off and higher resolution?
This doesn't seem to have any kind of logic to it, especially when security must be so high

This comes at the same time that the obvious scaremongering propaganda is released about 5 would be bombers at the G20
Five Britons arrested over G20 explosives stunt plan
Plot to disrupt G20 summit follows warnings by police that protesters are planning to bring London to a standstill
I think we need some people from ATS to take a camera just for the purposes of monitoring the situation because I'm pretty sure the police will know damn well that they are not being watched.......... oh wait, it's now illegal to record police officers
So, there will be literally no evidence, and if you somehow come up with any videos or photos of police brutality you'll be labelled a terrorist.

I'll put $500 bucks on nothings going to happen, except the usual
egg and shoe throwing. They will probably have a Anti-Shoe Defence
system in place though, and you'd have to launch from outside of London.
What sort of odds are you going to give me.

The DfT said it has not prevented the use of the cameras for any other purposes but added that the cameras need to be upgraded for parking enforcement.
So if that's the case isn't this a storm in a tea cup?
Or would the offices that monitor the cameras be shut down? - they are wireless, presumably they could be accessed by the security.

How boneheaded can the police and the government be by actually calling their operation "Operation Glencoe?"

UK Metropolitan Police are using social networks such as Twitter and Facebook to monitor protests due to take place in London over the next few days. If someone already posted this sorry.
It wouldnt stop here. I suspect ATS will also be watched!
I am one who doesnt believe in the 911 conspiracy theories. Yeah, yeah, I know, my head is in the sand

Just in case a few rookie riot cops decide the lack of surveillance might allow them to bend the rules a bit.

Why, are people conspiring on ATS to go around smashing up property, committing violence and generally showing the world why the human race are still a very long way from being the most intelligent species on the planet? If so I want no further part of this website!

Well, regardless of what either sides motives will be, the best thing to do for the protesters would be to bring cameras, lots of em.

Same goes for catching protesters who feel the same way.
Footage is always best in the hands of the civilians in my opinion.

to reduce possible evidence of police actions taken against protestants.
is that a spelling mistake?
or a reference to Glen Coe?
