Well I never really got why people cared one way or another about pictures.

Especially since there seem to be a bunch of members with pictures of themselves in there avatar, at one time or another on ATS that I have come across more then a few. But ya personally I never really cared enough to think much on it, before I posted picture...And now that I have! I still don't think much on it, and with daily life and all such things. I will probably forget about this stuff and thread given a little time anyways. So to each there own.

But anyways I like your pet lizard, and your dog from that angle it reminds me of my pet dog. Oh and also, you have a beautiful family whatever69.

As for me, I see no reason in putting up my picture..I prefer to keep that private...especially on a site this size with people who I haven't a clue of what they are really about.

i was the same way, then my 14 year old daughter showed me many pics that family and friends have posted on the internet with us in them, so i thought big deal what’s few more going to hurt.

so i was thinking how many people out there have pics of us, it’s too many to count, just think of the school photos taken over the years, weddings or other functions ive been to. Let alone maybe getting snapped by the local newspaper while you’re wondering around the mall.

Whateva and Family Pics

I think its up to the individual if they want to put pics up...

I am much more cautious than most..and feel I don't need to have a visual to try and relate to someone through text, and I find it deters from it..because we are all a little visually prejudiced...for a variety of reasons.

Back in the old days.. family photos were shared with friends and family..when someone was visiting.. and the albums were put away.

Now they are plastered all over the net.. for whoever to look at..and they can be shared and given to even more strangers.

Now all strangers are not bad.. and I'm sure that some of you have made some great friendships on this site.. and its great to exchange photos...but there is a lot of traffic on this site..and much is not even from people who have signed up.

I have seen family photos that have been put up on the "things that make you laugh " thread.. that could really offend someone deeply.

Also there is the possibility that someone you don't know..or someone that dislikes you..could take your picture and photo shop it....to make it appear a certain way, or damage your reputation. It is scary to me what some can do,and will do, for a variety of reasons. What is even scarier is what some could do with a childs photo..just for their own twisted pleasure.

These are some reasons as to why I am cautious, but I realize it is my personal view.

Oh! in that first picture he looks like he is butt-scooting your couch.

Hopefully you don't sit down on it to much...Or is that the cats bed the he is butt-scooting? Giving them a little present eh.

My dog used to butt-scoot the carpet if you didn't watch her, some of them are real sneaky about it, and they only do it when they know no one is around or looking.

No she has never ever done that..maybe you should get some worming tablets for your pets and take a good look at their diet.

Actually, scooting around on the bottom is just a sign that their anal glands are full. They'll need to be relieved. And it's gross...and stinky.

(I used to work at a Vet Hospital.)

Does this only happen in male dogs, I’ve had two females and neither of them have ever done this, why is that? Never mind I’ll do a search and learn something, didn’t think I’d wake up this morning and be searching on why doggies do this

No doubt! seriously....take your dog to the vet and have it's anal gland drained...it serious AND it's seriously disgusting to do yourself....I know...It's all fun and games when they scoot that butt across the floor; however, they are not doing it for your viewing pleasure...it is a serious medical condition...PLEASE take the dog to the vet...OR, alternatively, read up on how to do it yourself....trust me, let the vet do it.
