It is the time of the Hieros Gamos ... The Great Rite ... The Mating of The God & Goddess which symbolizes the fertility of the land that will go on to produce a good harvest later in the year.

It is my favourite Sabbat of the Witches Wheel (closely followed by Samhain) ... and makes me think of bluebells ... daffodils ... and the smell of May Blossom (Hawthorn) in the woods and lanes around my home .... mmmmm ... lovely ... and let's not forget the food ... drink ... and drumming
