Irans Supreme Leader Dismisses Obamas Appeal

Iran's supreme leader is dismissing calls from U.S. President Barack Obama for a "new beginning" in relations between the two countries.

Speaking in the holy city of Mashhad Saturday, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said that, despite Mr. Obama's words, he sees no change in U.S. policy toward Iran.

I suppose Iranians aren't quite convinced they aren't on axis of evil anymore. I wonder why they are dismissing this gesture as it would surely lead to better relations between USA and Iran. Even world, maybe. I suspect that they want something concrete before coming any closer than this. With current economic situation, I can't see USA giving them very much but perhaps some sanctions could be lifted.
