After Stewart Spanked Kramer it allowed people to see him in a new light. Unfortunately some people want to stay in the dark. Primarily if they watch Fox News all they can say about Stewart is he's a liberal Jew comedian so no one should listen to him. But what are the facts?

www.truthdig.com...

Other details are equally eye-opening. Pew judged the levels of knowledgeability (correct answers) among those surveyed and found that those who scored the highest were regular watchers of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show and Colbert Report. They tied with regular readers of major newspapers in the top spot—with 54% of them getting 2 out of 3 questions correct. Watchers of the Lehrer News Hour on PBS followed just behind.

Virtually bringing up the rear were regular watchers of Fox News. Only 1 in 3 could answer 2 out of 3 questions correctly. Fox topped only network morning show viewers.

www.wired.com...
Look at that chart, Fox News viewers are at the bottom of every thing.

According to studies done by unbias experts if you watch FN you live in a fantasy world of magic and WMDs. If you watch TDS you cured cancer, discovered alien life, and make Einstein look like an idiot.

Not surprising. Fox went on and on about WMDs even after it came out as pure BS. They called Mark Foley a Democrat after he got caught by the media raping little boys. They kept calling Obama Osama and a Muslim, commie, satan, what ever. They went on and on about how we had to give up how illegal wiretapping and torture were the American way. While TDS just made fun of Obama's ears and Biden's ramblings.

I've been saying it for years. Jon Stewart can get away with saying the truth on TV because he does it under the guise of comedy. When TPTB decide which networks to manipulate, Comedy Central slips right below their radar. Half of the time when you watch the MSM, you get partisan bickering. The other half: fluff stories. Stewart kind of plays this into his show, he'll just take a clip from the news, and people will laugh. His stuff needs no punchlines, our media is that pathetic.

I'd say they would get the same or worse results with people that only get their news from one news outlet.

It isn't a FOX thing it is a mainstream media thing.

Thats nice, got something that isn't 2 years old?

I'm just saying, comparing today to 2 years ago is kind of stretching things.

I beg to differ....

I still come across FOX faithfuls who think S.H and Iraq had a major hand in 9/11

They also introduced us to Andrew Napolitano, one o the best Constitutional Scholars and youngest tenured Appeals Court Judge ever. he sided with Ron Paul and thinks the government has gotten out of control. He has written of the best books I have read in years in Constitutional Chaos and a nation of sheep.

I haven't watched FOX since about 2001 so the Judge may no longer be there being he is pro peoples rights and constituton and anti- neo-con NWO Police State nation and has joined Ron Paul..

Everyone is right once in a while, the odds are with ya. Even a broken clock is right twice a day!!

I'm only going to say this,

I bet I can go and find people that still believe that Obama sat in a racist church for 20 years and didn't hear anything racist or anti-American in the whole 20 years that he was there. And I can also bet that they only watch MSNBC or CNN for all of their news.

The main point that I made that you didn't get was that anybody that gets all their news from one news outlet is grossly uninformed. I would also go as far as to say people that only get their news from liberal leaning or conservative news outlets are not much better, a little better sure, leaps and bounds better? Noway keep dreaming.

And that is all I'm going to say about.

Andrew Napolitano is a contributor I believe. That does not count, and if it the guy I think it is he has a strange hair-line.

FOX NEWS does have Ellis Henican on from time to time, who is a rhetorical genius, so i do thank them for that. But, again, Ellis is just a contributor as is Napolitano.

Fair enough...

On another note; the Anti American point is i bit ironic considering folks who seemed to be driving that point home during the election now HATE the US government and its authority. Once ya consider upside down flags and succession talk the irony of "ANTI AMERICAN" becomes very thick, only justifiable if classified as the good kind of ANTI AMERICAN sentiment I suppose...

This last year has been amazing for me, to watch the cards fall and the hands evaporate with the passing of time. Plucky has called for panic sex at least five or six times yet we are still in the trenches and still alive. The sad part is I fear public outrage has obscured the causation of the catastrophe and thievery the we have experienced.

There is a difference between good government and bad as in good policy and criminal.
Both are not inherently bad, the bad is a manmade phnom and nothing more. Derivative products, felonious financial products and multi-sector conglomerates were outlawed after the great depression for a reason - but do we have any discussion about that here?????????? Do you hear anyone blaming the CEOS, financial elite and the policies that allowed for the goings on? RARE, therefore this entire mess was for nothing - yes government cannot do everything - but a populace that is unwilling to address the loopholes and the ideology that allowed for the goings on cannot be helped by god himself.

It is truly a cluster F$#@ to the poor house and then some.

SHHHHHHHHH!!!! Dont speak of the mustachio! It has spies everywhere and an assassin squad made of Hannity's chin hair.

On topic: I absolutely enjoy Stewart and Colbert. They bring a lovely floral scent to the garbage of the news networks.

Ah yes Geraldo and the bank vault that was... EMPTY!

Ah yes Billo and little kids love being... RAPED!

Ah yes Billo and women who are raped.... DESERVED IT!

Ah yes Hannity and how Iraq... WAS BEHIND 9/11, HAD WMDS, WAS A THREAT TO AMERICA!

Ah yes the entire channel and its guests, one who called for the nuking of Canada, an important American Ally in the war in Afganistan... ANN COULTER!

In other words, facts elude them. Women don't ask to be raped, little kids don't love being raped, Saddam had no WMDS, was not behind 9/11, was not a threat to America, and Canada should not be nuked. These and many other reasons are why studies show TDS viewers are brilliant and FN viewers are two steps away from mentally handicapped chimpanzees calling them idiots in sign language.

The difference is pretty simple...

The Daily Show does humor based on real news stories... therefore their critique actually has legitimate value.

... faux news makes up stories and passes them off as real therefore what the have to say about their stories are already based on lies and half truths.

Technically it is an odd comparison because the Daily show is a half hour entertainment show on 4 nights a week.
While fox is a 24 hours news channel.

So it could be argued that DS watchers get their news from somewhere else. But where?

I think they need to poll DS watchers and see what else they are watching. What is in the opening 10 minute monologue is usually eye opening, they obviously can't cover a lot of news.

So I don't know how accurate this study is. Probably none at all. Unless the followers of JS are watching pbs. Which is highly possible. Then it should be PBS and NPR that get the credit.

On a personal note, the Fox News most of the time does nothing but bicker, name call. And I see the craziest garbage come off that channel. To me it is about as newsworthy as the Onion.

I am not saying that because it is a conservative channel. I think they do conservatives harm. There are other good shows out there that show a good arguement without resorting to high school tactics. I think the exception is Glen Beck who can sit there and discuss things like a normal person.

I am a big fan of NPR because they cover news around the world. Not just here. It is nice to know what is going on in other places. None of the networks cover who else is going into elections and what their voters think.

Judge Napolitano (brilliant man) is still at Fox and is used all the time. He is a staple figure of Fox and I doubt he is going anywhere. I see him on every facet of Fox discussing everything under the sun. The other day I thought: Does this man ever sleep? Because I see him so often. Really, he is one of the best people on Fox.

Actually PBS viewers fall behind TDS, but are close to TDS viewers. So PBS does a good job of informing people, unlike FN which reports witches and goblins and dragons in place of real news.

Also, Judge Napolitano sounds like Pat on MSNBC. He's on all day and night. I think he sleeps on the weekends then stays up all week to appear on every show on MSNBC. Also, to all the "MSNBC IS LEFT WING BS!" Uh then why do they have two of the most conservative people on their? Joe has a 3 hour show, Pat is on 24/7. They also have a couple GOP Strategists on every show, including Countdown and Madow.

I'm sorry, but I disagree. I believe this chart does demonstrate that it IS in fact a Fox-news thing, and I'll tell you why I believe that to be true.

I say this without ANY political leaning motivation at all, but if you watch Fox-news, and yes it's true with other networks as well, although to a lesser degree, what you see on Fox is a pure, unwatered champoining of an ideaology, not a journalistic approach to the days news. They don't report the news, they report what they do with a clear direction to what a certain affiliation wants to, or does believe.

msnbc for example will report the news, THEN will comment on it from a left-leaning perspective, fox-news will report the news WITH a far-right-leaning-perspective, and I believe that to be the difference.

msnbc's news programming is geared to the news, it's the on-air personallity that then lends his slanted side of what was reported.

fox-news programming is geared to the slant in the first place.

There is a difference I believe.

The only purpose for mainstream media is to cater to the Lowest Common Denominator. If you had an educated and informed population, there would be no more need for the MSM.

MSNBC has some left leaning, but they also have the longest show dedicated to a former GOP House member, and a right wing extremist is on every show 24/7 and never sleeps. Fox? They lost the only liberal who got tired of being told to stfu by guests.
