Why we didn't go to Mars in the 80ties.

It seems that there were elaborate plans to send a manned mission to Mars in the late 70ties to early 80ties. However, it also seems that the lack of public support was really the major bump:

Eyes on the Red Planet - Mission Planning from 1952 to 1970

This is quite interesting. According to this report, we had all the plans in place for a true and timely space exploration, as would be logical following the Moon landings in 1969. But we didn't do it. Instead, we stayed close to Earth, only sending probes to extra-Terra destinations (as far as we know).

To me it makes no sense that we haven't achieved a greater goal in 40 years since we landed on the Moon. It just doesn't make sense. In all other areas of science, we made so much progress since then. But we never topped our achievement of 1969. That's just absurd.

Yes, the notion is absurd. IMHO, there is a secret space program, has been for about 40 years probably. And I'm sure that they made it way past the moon. I also think it's funny that this was their supposed plan back then, but for some odd reason, and till this day (over two decades later), they haven't implemented these plans?.. yeah sure! ..Thanks skeeveve, you also made a good point about the technology that have invented since the 80's.. did you hear about the dream reading technology the Japanese invented?.. or the extremely realistic virtual-reality machine the British just invented?.. and these are just the publicly displayed technologies, imagine what the black-projects have.

Thanks for your response. Sure enough, I can't even begin to imagine the technologies available to me, if I was important enough.

I wish I'd have graduated from some well-known college in the States with a honor-roll degree in physics or aeronautics or something along those lines.

Maybe I'd know what we really have

Yeah, that's something I think about constantly. How is it possible people landed on moon 40 years ago and then just circled here and there around earth, and sent some probes here and there which were lost in space. I mean what is going on? It is one of facts that make sense of the theory that we never went to moon in the first place, shadows and stuff.. I mean, we have so much technology now, phones can make movies, but no space ships yet? To never boldly go...?

Because the Nazi Alliance Stingy Agency wants it all for themselves along with all the exotic technologies they have created from those early finds and want you and I to believe that there is nothing but rocks and holes out there, nothing but oil, war and dispair on Earth, and want to keep us all in the dark while they get to play space rangers and zip across the solar system and declare it as their own.

Think about it. After the Moon landings and the last mission in 73, manned spaceflight came to a shattering hault. From 69 thru 73, they managed to gather up enough "Moon Rocks" (COUGH!!) and delcare there was absolutely nothing, well if there was nothing after Apollo 11, why Apollo 12, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18??? Simple, to continue to recover the archives, the bits and pieces of advanced hardware, bring it all back, reverse engineer it along with the other recovered bits and pieces from UFO crashes, and build this completely seperate society of secret everything, while giving you and me the false reality we all live in right now, while they live in the real reality and look at us all and laugh.

Thanks to the apparatus created after WWII, the very one that Eisenhower warned us about, they were able to create this isolated and untouchable secret society that enjoys free energy, limitless possibilities, and technologies that will never become a part of our lives unless some brave lone pilot of one of those exotic crafts hijacks that ship and lands it in plain sight in a massive gathering of public assembly.

As long as there is black op, un-accounted for projects and funding that are outside of constitutional checks and balances, their power simply increases. And the unfortunate thing is...it may already be far too late to even attempt to change things. They have had over 50 years to build up this hidden society and surround themselves with power and technology that even our current known best wont have a smither of a chance against.

Welcome to the farm..a place with no name, and a place with no way out.

Cheers!!!!

Good question. I am AMAZED that we are setting a goal to go back to the moon IN ANOTHER TEN YEARS! That is just amazing. I had hopes to hear plans to go to MARS in ten more years, not to take 60 years to go back and do something we did in the 60's! It makes absolutely no sense in the world of human exploration and achievements.

Some people would point out that there are no resources that humans can take advantage of on the moon but I disagree. We have only explored such a SMALL portion of our moon. There could be so many wonders on and under its surface just waiting to be discovered.

Are you kidding me? The best technology we had in the 80's was 40286s, Ataris, and newfangled solar calculator watches. Puleeeez. The reason we didn't go to Mars in the 80s was because it was wiser to wait for the technology to rise to the occasion, because a mission would cost billions of dollars, and we wanted successful missions.

Once technology caught up, we has a slough of fresh young scientists, experienced scientist, cheaper and more tested technology, we did go to Mars, but it was the 90s.

It's a toughie for sure.

As one Rf burns mentioned there are some who say that secert space operations have been happening for years, with reverse engineering, secret bases and stocks of gold and metal stored in space and/or special weapon satellites .

There are those who believe that nobody has been to the moon, that it was all an elaborate hoax designed to strengthen US support during the cold war, as technology then was primitive and that the space suits wouldn't have been able to withstand the radiation bursts en route to the moon and also due to the fact that NOBODY else has returned to the moon since.

Either way, it's a perfect topic for this site and i want to learn more.

Camelot Project videos on You Tube feature some speakers who claim there are jump rooms used by black ops to get to Mars bases. This is alien technology.Old fashioned rockets are obsolete.A rocket journey to Mars by comparison would be like crossing the Atlantic in a canoe, instead of an ocean liner. When I first drew the Mars rovers 1987,I could not have known this alien technology was already being used to get Earth humans to Mars and back in the proverbial wink of an eye. The disparity in rocket vs. alien technology is staggering.

We already been there check out alternative 3 back in 1966. Rumors were the people were passengers in an ET craft. There is a footage on the youtube. The dude that sent it to the radio station end up dead before he could get there, he mailed the video, and the station later on was force to say it was a hoax by the national security apparatus. The journalists end up fired and they wrote a book about it.

Some NASA employees say that we been there. The public don't know because they don't want a bunch of people migrating there. Also, the projects were ran by the sadistic shadow goverment who are now under control of some ET races. There are bases on the back side of the moon as well as on Mars, some were left abandon from earlier civilization, but now has been taken over my the shadow goverment.

Mars has a atmosphere, ever wonder why the polar ice recedes seasonal on Mars. Yet NASA claims temperature on Mars is -140 degrees. I never seen ice melt at -140.

We live in a world where reality is not what it seems. Our goverment sold us out to ETs with a negative agenda and now we are kept in the dark.

I like Stephen Baxters books on the subject of what if we continued to push to Mars using our current technology. He is very adept at drawings conclusions about how far we would have come by now with a Mars terra forming project. There is no doubt that with the technology at the time and the technology developed along the way, trips to Mars by companies would be well underway. The question of why? Is valid. It doesn't make much sense, even given the political drama of the mid and late 70's. We still would have made it to Mars in the earlier 80's with manned missions.

Consider also the mental state of the 12 moon walkers. Even without drawing any complex conspiracy theory, it seems obvious that something important is in the heavens and publicly we are not either ready to know it or not allowed to explore it.

Without to much speculation, it would not be hard to imagine that something in this upper realm is so valuable as to represent infinite wealth of either knowledge, goods, or both, as to preclude the disclosure to a society not ready to be exposed to it.

Personally, I feel it falls under the catagory of "you can't handle the truth"
