Foreign Soldier Shoots American. What will Obama Do?

www.opednews.com

Ironically the shooting of Anderson occurred nearly six years to the day that Rachel Corrie was murdered by Israelis (March 16, 2003). Corrie was run over by a bulldozer as she tried to prevent the destruction of a pharmacist's house in Rafah on the Gaza Strip. The Bush Administration and Congress betrayed the Corrie family, accepting the feeble Israeli excuse that it was an accident despite the testimony of several eyewitnesses. A Congressional resolution expressing sympathy with the family and calling for a independent investigation never got more than 73 sponsors and died in committee. Rachel has become an icon of the human rights movement with songs and a play written about her and her own skillful writings collected and published. Because of public pressure from the states she was not treated totally like a Palestinian whose killings receive the barest of attention. Her death merited a perfunctory "investigation" and a concluding whitewash.

have not see it on ATS yet. if I am wrong, MODs please just close the thread.

so as we know there is a new government in Israel. as we can easly see it is not going to be good time for Palestine and in my opinion for the whole world as well.

the only hope is lack of the support for Israel from US. is Obama going to turn back to Livini and Co?

the reaction on thet tragedy could be some sign. let's see.

and BTW, article is worth reading for those who still refuse to understand the palestinians protests.

This is an unfortunate situation.

I am not sure what you are looking for here. Is it for people to be outraged by a situation that Mr. Anderson put himself into?

He chose to go to an area of the world that is not safe at the moment. The U.S. has issued warnings about travel to that area of the world, and this person chose to go anyway.

How is this the responsibility of Obama?

it is the time he can answer the question which a half of the world is asking. will he or not support blinly the Isreal as Bush has.

I did not wrote anywhere that Obama is responsible for that tragedy. but if your opinion is that it is only Mr. Anderson's problem for trying to make our world a better place, than I have no words on this.

outside of your house there are criminals and you know it. but you are leaving home, aren't you? would you blame them for stealing your wallet or you will blame yourself?

You do realize that Palastinian people get money from the U.S., also? What your leaders do with that money is a question you should be asking your leadership. The U.S. does not just "blindly" support Israel alone. My own personal belief is that we should get out of the business of supporting any of you in that part of the world, and let you have at each other.

By simply asking what will Obama do, in your title alone, you imply it is his responsibility.

This has nothing to do with an American traveling to a part of the world that is at WAR, after he has been warned it isn't safe to go there. Quite a big difference.

well, my leadership? I am not Palestinian dear friend.

and crime is crime, does not matter if someone was warned of a danger of it.

what Obama will do about it? - it does not mean that he is responsible for what has happened but only for the action taken or not in reply for it. yes, this is his responsoibility. NOW. I have no idea how you came up with the conclusion. and at the end, it was not my question but title from article I had to quote.

cheers
