i was never that close with my grandma (she died when i was around 16 or something) so i never asked her about this, but i'm gonna tell you what my
mother told me that my grandma told her.
they lived on the swedish countryside. not much going on and few people living in the nearby area. this was around 1930-1940.
my grandmother and my grandfather were walking on the ice a very cold day during the winter. no snow on the ice.
suddenly, they hear a humming sound, and they turn around to see this silvery, streamlined saucer-like object hovering a few meters over the ice. it
traveled a bit and then accelerated away into the sky at great speed.
my first though was that this story is so cliché it hurts my knees, but my grandma never told anyone about it and was a very no frills "to the
point" kind of woman, doing a lot of manual work around the docks where my grandfather built boats. i just can't see the point of her lying about
something like that.
well, just though it'd share.
