Last night, i saw one.

I dont have any pictures, only my story. So if you require pictures then i can only suggest you stop here.

Last night at about 9:45pm AEST i was playing Counter Strike and decided it was time for a smoke. I stepped out the front and walked over to the cars and stood inbetween them on the driveway, because it was a bit chilly.

I was looking around the sky (As i do) and noticed a star 'moving'. At first i though it was a sattalite, which to me is something nice to see aswell.. but it started changing course, rapidly. At one point the light was coming straight for me and at this point i started stepping back (tripping over a car) and sorta hid behing the brick wall of the house, but never taking my eyes off this object.

The light dimmed and appeared to face away from me, then crept across the sky turning a red colour and dissapearing.

I should also note that when the light looked like it was facing me it had two blue lights on the front i suppose.

The object appeared to be VERY far up. Higher that a Jet or Any plane. And a plane has never acted like what i have described.

I can draw up a picture in paint or something i suppose, or take a picture in the daytime (I tried to take a picture last night, but iPhones dont like the night!) and give you an idea of what i am talking about.

I had a sighting very like that once. I thought I was watching a satellite too as it was a tiny pinprick of light way up there, making a very steady and rapid path across the clear sky. Then, it appeared to stop instantly or perhaps change direction because the light suddenly grew a very intense blue and like you, I freaked out a little as I had the weird feeling the light was pointing at me and heading for me LOL. Anyway, it stayed this bright - perfectly steady, not flickering, as a meteorite does - appearing to be stationary (or heading straight toward me, I'm not sure, the effect would be the same from my perspective). Then the blue light seemed to swing upwards again and it dimmed to it's previous little satellite-like pinprick and it carried on it's former course, same speed, right across the sky. Like you I felt it was too high to be a plane, and I'm not aware of satellites changing direction on a dime or having a headlight for that matter LOL, and meteorites don't shine in such a steady manner when they interact with the atmosphere, nor do they change direction twice, instantly, or stop. So, I have no idea what it was. But I have my suspicions.

Thats awesome, i feel like we have seen the same thing, but not at the same time.

Did you notice any red color when it vanished?

Someone else posted last week about a light that responded to their thought.

Sounds like this one responded to you as well.
Like "oh someone is interested in us down there, we should check them out." or something like that.

But yes, it was if it looked straight at me, fell thats what it felt like.

Would a picture of a light really prove anything?
If you are telling the truth, your word is good for me.

Everyone wants proof. I don't require proof when there is truth. LOL

Thanks for sharing this story about your sighting. Just a word of advice, don't tell anyone about this, not your brother, not your friend, not your sister, or anyone else from your family and those close to you. Unless one of them saw it for themselves, because they will probably think you're crazy. Also avoid those who would tell you that you saw Venus or swamp gas, judging from the description, and I'll assume that you're accurately describing the event, it seems an artificial object of some sort that you saw. Take care.

Yeah its not something im very open about.

I told my girlfriend and a close friend who also believes.

Red and blue lights are very common on planes and helicopters. I have seen some planes flying ALOT higher than it seems they should be.

I am just trying to think of all possibilities so please just bear with me, because for what its worth I do believe you. Ive seen a few UFO's myself.

That is really neat that it came towards you almost as if it sensed you were watching it. I wonder if mabye it was almost a "tip of the hat" of sorts, Or some sort of acknowledgment.

I am sorry I do not have anything of very much substance to add, I just think this is a nice sighting.

I am glad you said right off the back that you didnt have any pictures and that anyone who is expecting any should just stop reading. That keeps alot of unwanted "pics or it didnt happen" posts out....

You can even check out the latest reported sightings and see if anything matches what you saw.

But somehow 100% sure it was not of this world, my gut has butterflies in it as i type this, just thinking about it heading straight towards me. Not a scared feeling.. more overwhelmed. But also happy.

And its not my first sighting.. just the only one i have shared.

I certainly know how you feel. I hope it was a tip of that hat too. I have a feeling there was no malitious intent but then again, I wasnt there.For what its worth I certainly would never call you or anyone else crazy. I listen to everyones story and give it a fair shake no matter what. That is not to say that I will be fooled though. I listen to everyones story and consider what evidence has been presented. It is only fair, after all.

Same thing happened to me in 2007 when I was going home for Christmas break. It would appear that these sightings are happening a lot more lately.

I have wanted to see a UFO for ages, I even go to a UFO conference every year, But have I ever seen one? NOOOOOOOO!!!!!! Have they ever abducted me?? NOOO!!!!!!!

Tonight the ISS was flying over, I went out and shot video of it just praying that a UFO would appear in the video. Did it? NOOOOOO!!!!!

Sorry about that. To answer your question, I asked one of my friends about the lights and he told me that it could be some kind of plane depending on where the lights are position.

What I saw in the winter of 2007 was just like you described. Except there were red,blue,white and green lights, but I don't know for sure what they could be...sorry.

And RocketGirl.. it was as if the opject broke i suppose.. burnt up maybe. I dont see why a plane would be a non-pulsating white with blue as it turned to me and then red as it vanished.

Im not saying you are wrong.. Im keeping my mind open aswell!

I feel the same way. The way those lights flash they couldn't be part of a plane. You might be right something might be coming our way soon.

I've seen very similar.
I saw a satellite going over. Very true, straight course. It suddenly got very bright bluish-white and then faded out back to a typical satellite.
It was a satellite, of course, reflecting the sun, which had set an hour or two before and then losing that angle as it passed farther over.

Freaked me out a little. Came to ATS and described what I saw and the wonderful members habitating the Space Exploration forums convinced me enough to accept that it wasn't as odd as I had thought.

The difference being mine did not change course at all. Yours, you say, changed direction mid-flight, non-typically.

I did say just similar.

Very intriguing story. With the rapidness of motion and the color changing, I believe that these are ways for ETs to contact and communicate to each other. I came to this conclusion because I had a night similar to yours not too long ago. I was on my back porch smoking and came up upon what looked to be a satellite in orbit, but I was quickly proved wrong. Flashing colors of red, green, and blue and rapid motion seem to attract others. I went inside my house in fright, but I will never forget.
