Wow. That is quite the video.

I don't think that it is an intentional "plant" by the NWO to brainwash us. I do, however, think that the lyrics are a snapshot of what a lot of people feel and believe today.

I read the some of the comments about the video on YouTube and they are overwhelmingly positive.

We really are in a sorry state. Can you imagine if your children wanted to emulate her? Of course that is what they said about Madonna in the 80's.

Here are the lyrics.

Lily Allen The Fear Lyrics:
[Verse 1]
I want to be rich, and I want lots of money
I don't care about clever, I don't care about funny
I want loads of clothes, and ****loads of diamonds
I heard people die while they're trying to find them
And I'll take my clothes off and it will be shameless
‘Cuz everyone knows that's how you get famous
I'll look at the sun and I'll look in the mirror
I'm on the right track, yeah, I'm on to a winner

[Chorus]
I don't know what's right and what's real anymore
And I don't know how I'm meant to feel anymore
But when do you think it will all become clear?
‘Cuz I'm being taken over by The Fear

[Verse 2]
Life’s about film stars, and less about mothers
it's all about fast cars, and cussing each other
But it doesn't matter, 'cuz I'm packing plastic
And that's what makes my life so ******* fantastic
And I am a weapon of massive consumption
And it's not my fault, it's how I'm programmed to function
I'll look at the sun, and I'll look in the mirror
I'm on the right track, yeah, we're on to a winner

[Chorus]

[Bridge]
Forget about guns, and forget ammunition
Cause I'm killing them all on my own little mission
Now I'm not a saint, but I'm not a sinner
And everything's cool as long as I'm getting thinner

I love this song, and I love Lily. This song is spot on isnt it?

Edit to add:

I do not think this is a plot to brainwash, I think it is the opposite, it is an artists way of pointing out the ills of society, much the same as artists have done for centuries.

The song sucks...I don't care what she's trying to say in those lyrics...the song REALLY sucks.

America has been this way for 15 years now...money, power, fame, etc...people care more about American Idol then the Presidential Election, women will get naked for cash and to get in a book to gain fame, and men will do almost anything to live the GQ life....I agree its sad...but the song really sucks..lol

Yhea, I defiantly get the feeling that was written to be sarcastic... If that's the right word, I know ironic is not the word in this case (or is it - my head hurts)

I think you're right, and boy, did she nail it. It's the " All about ME" culture and people don't care what it takes to get "it".

It is just a representation of how the world is. Not a plant by the NWO. A recent prime example of this type of crap is Kim Kardashian. She is a nobody, has sex with someone makes it public and boom she has TV shows, interviews etc........

Now the sad part is how society eats this slop willingly and makes this a viable form of becoming famous.

You've got this song totally wrong, it's an attack on just the things you mention - take the line:

And I am a weapon of massive consumption
And it's not my fault, it's how I'm programmed to function

... she's saying how all these people have been brainwashed into consumerist servitude. The real question will be how long before TPTB decide that she cannot sing about these things an ymore?

Not impressed one bit. Just another teeny bop bubble gum pop song geared to the teenage female crowd who will go prancing around singing they will take their clothes off and be shameless cuz it will make them famous (popular), and then we will see a rise in teen pregnancy rates.

BTW, brainwashing through media has been happening for decades.

Cheers!!!!

That's just it. I don't think the teens who listen to this song will get it. I think they will see this as "if you wanna be cool, then this is the way to do it." The younger ones won't understand the lyrics.

You have to be pretty daft to not see that the song is obvious social commentary.

I am a big Lily Allen fan, so I must give my 2 cents.

She is speaking from the heart, what strikes me the most is

I don’t know what’s right and what’s real anymore I don’t know how I’m meant to feel anymore

If everyone does not feel this way by now, then you have no feelings. I have become numb to the world. It makes me think of that film Factory Girl with Sienna Miller (Edie Sedgwick), when she says "Have you ever analyzed things to the degree where you can't really remember the difference between what's real and what you've created in your head?...I just wish life could be simpler."

I am there already. When does this roller-coaster stop.

I get the feeling that she is telling you whats wrong with the place and we're missing the message to some extent. Question really should be how many listeners actually attempt to comprehend the lyrics?

Sincerely, M.

It's a deep message.

The twisted irony will be when you see little girls dancing to this clueless...

I figured what song it was even though youtube is blocked here at work.
Scrolled down . . . yep . . . Lily Allen

She is a hottie.

I loved her first album. This song is meh. But you got the wrong approach. I think she is saying how messed up the world really is. You will get that from another of her songs:

LDN

Riding through the city on my bike all day
Cause the filth took away my license
It doesn't get me down and I feel OK
Cause the sights that I'm seeing are priceless

Everything seems to look as it should
But I wonder what goes on behind doors
A fella looking dapper, but he's sitting with a slapper
Then I see it's a pimp and his crack whore

You might laugh you might frown
Walkin' round London town

Sun is in the sky oh why oh why ?
Would I wanna be anywhere else
Sun is in the sky oh why oh why ?
Would I wanna be anywhere else

When you look with your eyes
Everything seems nice
But if you look twice
you can see it's all lies

There was a little old lady, who was walking down the road
She was struggling with bags from Tesco
There were people from the city having lunch in the park
I believe that it's called al fresco
Then a kid came along to offer a hand

But before she had time to accept it
hits her over the head, doesn't care if she's dead
Cause he's got all her jewelery and wallet

You might laugh you might frown
walking round London town

Sun is in the sky oh why oh why?
Would I wanna be anywhere else
Sun is in the sky oh why oh why?
Would I wanna be anywhere else

When you look with your eyes
Everything seems nice
But if you look twice
you can see it's all lies

Life, yeah that's city life, yeah that's city life, yeah that's city life
Life, yeah that's city life, yeah that's city life, yeah that's city life

Sun is in the sky oh why oh why?
Would I wanna be anywhere else
Sun is in the sky oh why oh why?
Would I wanna be anywhere else

When you look with your eyes
Everything seems nice
But if you look twice
You can see it's all lies

Yeah guys, this is irony. It's a tool with words.
It's meant to exploit a flaw in our society.
She's talking about how f'd up we are. I like it, not really the music but the words. It's almost like she's doing it in jest, that's the way I see it.

Also, most teenie bopper girls don't like this kind of stuff; it's the disillusioned older teens who like this. Teenie bopper girls like songs about "happy things".

Watch at 1:30, she talks about what the song means. It's satire.

haha lilly alan a NWO plant, yeah and MJ was working with chris hanson!

the song is her perspective on life, her world view is far less offensive than most of those posted on ATS -i really don't see what the problem with it is, she's trying to understand and comprehend the modern world while living comfortably -isn't that what all of us are doing?
