A "self-appointed vigilante" has been jailed for 10 years for stabbing to death a former policeman who was awaiting trial on child porn charges.

Daniel Williams, 30, of Trimsaran in west Wales, used a military-style combat knife with a seven inch blade to stab Geoffrey Harries 20 times.

I can understand his anger towards the cop but bottom line is this man went too far...but honestly what's wrong with being a vigilante?

I don't condone going all "Punisher" on criminals but there are benefits, are there not?

10 years also seems pretty light for a sentence considering he 1) murdered someone and 2) it was a cop

Well, let's hope that it doesn't turn out somehow that the cop was innocent. In that case, he murdered an innocent man for no good reason.

If the cop was undoubtedly guilty, then sure, the cop got what he deserved and the vigilante will probably be regarded as a hero in prison for offing a child predator (or future child predator).

Absolutely amazing how weak the British judicial system is.

Ten years for pre-meditated murder, probably out in 5. What insanity.

Little wonder the country is so out of control.
