Police hunt radioactive man on the run

www.news.com.au

POLICE are hunting down a man whose medical treatment has made him radioactive.

"Please warn officers that when he is arrested he might be radioactive," Judge John Price said.

"This is not a joke."

It's likely Mr Leopold is being treated with radioactive iodine for an overactive thyroid, according to Royal Victoria Infirmary radiation protection adviser Mike Keir, who claimed the risk to police and the public was minimal.

Well whether he's glowing or not, he's up on child porn charges as well, so I hope they're able to somehow capture him.

So how do you arrest a 'Radioactive Man'?

I suggest stunning him somehow and then scooping him up in a bulldozer, or maybe lasso him like a cowboy and drag him to prison.

An artist's impression of who they're looking for:

Ok maybe that's an exaggeration.

"Up and atom, Radioactive Man!"
"My eyes, ze goggles, zey do nothing!"

(gotta be a Simpsons fan to get that one)

I like how the risk to the public is always minimal in stories like this. Hmmm, it's almost like they're intentionally trying to prevent a panic... Hmmm.

A family member of mine had it done and she had to stay at a hotel for like 3 nights, but it really isn't that dangerous. Considering its safe for the person getting the treatment, the effects on others is pretty negligible.

Just keep them away from your genitals (remember kids, don't Uncle Leopold in a head scissors!) if you ever want to procreate. I'd also assume that the guy would wreck havoc on anybody with a pacemaker.

Why are they chasing him?

To see if the radioactivity enhances his speed.

Anyway he's on child porn charges, and he failed to appear for a court appearance, so they have to get him but they're not sure how to go about it (once they find him that is).

I wonder if he'll start looking like a Ghoul from Fallout 3.

When the cops find him I bet you $10 he'll say in a raspy voice,

"Hey, smoothskin, whaddya want?"

Why don't they trace his steps with a Geiger counter?

It won't work. The radioactive particles are contained inside his body. They give off radiation, but that radiation does not remain latent in the ground or other objects it passes through. Once he's gone, the source of the radiation is gone with him.

As for the story itself...meh. If this guy were actually dangerous due to his radioactivity, they wouldn't be looking for a 'man on the run'. They'd be looking for a corpse.

Here's more on the story (with a picture of the guy):

www.dailymail.co.uk...

Anyway I hate stories like this come out and they're never followed up. Surely the've caught this guy by now.

He's a evidently pedophile, so that's definitely another good reason not to get Uncle Leopold in a head scissors.

It's an Iron Man viral campaign.
He's running to the set of the next movie.

I was hoping they'd use him and not Whiplash and Crimson Dynamo.
For a hero that seems somewhat grounded in reality he has some off-the-wall villains.

This just in:
FIN-FANG-FOOM escapes from Chinese zoo!
Vows, to purge earth of human germs!
