All right, I intend to commit a sin this weekend.

At first I intend to go and get me all three parts of Lord of the Rings on DVD.
Then buy me chips and candy.
And one my way home get some Coke to drink.
Maybe also a few beer

And then ...

But will I regret this sin? HELP ME!!!!!

... and now the question ... what is your advice?

Greetings

ps: I know it contradicts my "Think For Yourself" avatar

Bring me the one ring, and I will make you a Nazgul

Now that is the sin of sins!

Seriously though, for pure escapism and a really killer adventure, those have got to be my favorite movies of all time. ESPECIALLY if you ever read the trilogy by Tolkien! The way Peter Jackson and team brought to life what was written in those books is truly astonishing.

I believe those movies took like 6 years in the making, and some of the scenes will just blow you away! If you can, try to get the version that includes the behind the scenes DVD! After you've sweated, cried, laughed, prayed and hidden under the covers watching all those, a final excursion with the behind the scenes DVD is almost as good as the films themselves! Incredible piece of work, and I know you will love it! Great choice! Enjoy! :w: (Why do I always drink when I'm on BTS? Oh yeah, I know--- it's dg's fault!
)

This will only be a sin if you don't buy Whoppers. That's the ultimate candy to have while watching movies. Do not give Sauron the ring.

Yep, read the books last year and I certainly must read them again one day. Unbelievable that stuff. loool .... okeee, need to see if I get the version with the behind the scenes. Not sure though if I get it somewhere. Hey, did you read the Hobbit??

@dbates
hahaha ... Whopper, that's funny. A few minutes ago I posted in the McDonalds thread. But no, gotta disappoint you, BK is a bit too far and they don't have a delivery service lol ... so it will really end in a sin ... mmh, why shouldn't I give him the ring? Are you interested? lol

Greetings

No, not BK whoppers. The malted milk balls. You know, movie candy. Goobers, Milk Duds, Whoppers, Sno Caps, Dots. I'm usually through with the popcorn before the titles roll.

Good eatin'.

You'll only regret it if you drink Coke - nasty stuff.

And go easy on the beers - ugh!

Chocolate? Yum......

And get the full length versions of the films (as well as the extras).

Oh and a good, comfy chair. Unplug the phones. Put a 'gone away' sign on the front door.

Spare a thought for me, I've seen the films already and envy you the delightful weekend you're about to enjoy.

Save your money, phone all your friends to see who's already got the DVDs, invite everyone over, buy more beer with money saved, everyone in LOTR fancy dress.

Coooool!

yes, it's just that I rarely watch movies and I actually promised myself to never watch Lord of the Rings. I have read the books (and it's no trilogy, it was even made clear in the book, lol) and I feel that once I have watched that stuff, the good memory of reading it evaporates

You may know that feeling. Great book. But
movie.

Well, it's Tuesday now and we haven't heard back from the OP.

He should be able to provide evidence by now of whether or night he sighted those dvds.

Tsk! Tsk! Starting a thread and getting us all wound up.

Guess which thread I've been reading??????

Seriously, how did it go? I hoped you enjoyed yourself and would be interested to know how the films compared to the books for you.

My advice would be to by some dipping sauce for the crisps (chips) salsa or cream and chives, depending on flavour of crisp snacks.

Remember, that Salsa and Windmill cookies will give you ghonarrea.

Update: Due to technical difficulties
I couldn't watch a thing. The window shutters broke and some unexpected problems turned up. The repair service was just here and it looks like a bomb was dropped. I was in no mood this weekend to enjoy it.

... but I am going to watch it soon LOOOOL

Greetings

Aaaaah! I'm so disappointed for you.

Isn't it weird how the 'excuse' you provided for not being able to watch your dvds so closely mirrored that of people who start the threads I was taking the mickey out of.
Almost as if I knew......

Synchronicity or am I psychic?

Well, there's something to be said for delayed pleasure - at least you've still got it to look forward to.

I hope you get things sorted soon.

Edit because I worded this badly.

I have the probably the best spirit pictures ever taken. I had them in the media category, one was viewed over 160 times, the other one I think over 86 times and not even 1 comment or anything.
Honestly? It is not really about "providing" proof/evidence or anything. It is more about how to debunk someone and make him look like an arse.

I could not provide the screenshots of the LOTR DVDs, but I could post spirit pictures that might blow someone away. But they are of no interest to anyone. Weird, huh? And if, then it was only about accusations that they are made in "Photoshop".

I had them on ATS for a few days a long time ago, but when I gave up my website I gave up the moniker too, as it was the same URL.

Greetings

You know, I worded my post so badly. I was going to change the whole thing but saw that you were already back on ATS and might have seen it.

I felt so disappointed for you - bad enough to have the problems you had, but on the week-end you were so looking forward to... must have made it ten times worse.

Under any other circumstances I might have found it shriekingly funny that I'd started my joke about ufo threads and then someone had replied with 'technical problems'.

I could have got away with 'hmph. they all say that'.

As it was, it did seem strange that I should have decided to play the fool instead of just asking how things went. And you had actually had problems.

Anyway, I'll stop digging. Hope we're ok.

Which sin is it exactly?

Possibly gluttony, though it's borderline...

Maybe sloth?

That's more over time...

Sounds like you're just having a good time.

I kept sinning all weekend...though shall not kill...

(well, it was paintball, so the "kills" were simulated, hehe...) Though the bruises are real enough, hehe....
