I agree with the first person, this article couldn't be more wrong. I listen to rap. And i am White. so for you to say theres never a shooting at country concerts, country this country that. makes it sound like your just saying white people don't do this don't do that. And the only reason you never see shootings at country concerts, is cause your all related to each other one way or another. Your mother is your sister, your dad is your grand pappy. So you all get along with each other. So I'm sorry but i don't agree with the article that rap was made by the government to ruin the black community.

To live in bliss, I envy this, to get away from this place.

All these things that I've come to accept.

Your post made me giggle Afro... So I suppose reading this thread wasn't that much of waste of my hit points.

This is just wrong.
Then you can say... People who listen to country are more likely to commit incest sex then people who listen to rap.

it is ultimately the individual who decides his or her fate. not tv, music, or video games. saying hip hop destroys communites is like saying that the internet was invented by the illuminati to destroy the family unit under a tidal wave of porn and world of warcraft. just about anything can be taken too far. people need to realize that humans love trends, and the current trend is hip hop culture, eventualy it will fall to yet another trend, but like past trends the good stuff will always be around and continue to be made.
i dont care if im 80 ill still pop in tech nine, or lil whyte, or even some king gordy. sorry just cant see the CIA comming up with an idea involving creativity.

I agree with most of what you are saying. I can't say for sure it's a conspiracy. I should have said it is possible to create such a subculture for the purpose of oppressing a target group. Why would anyone want to do it? Hatred, prejudice, racism, discrimination. Take your pic. People do go to extremes to damage others, so why not in this way?

Well said my friend. I'm 27/m latino in Southern Cali and I see exactly what you're saying. It seems that we have a mind set in California that no one has to take responsibility for anything now a days. I used to be of the mindset of "white people have it so easy, they don't know what struggle is". Now I see that it's not that they have it so easy, but that they tend to not F'up their lives and chances at success as much as say latino's here in L.A. People like me are going extinct in L.A. 27 latino, no baby mama drama, never been married. It's so much easier for blacks, and latino's to cry about equallity, but then do nothing to improve their situation.

How about teach these stupid ass kids about sexual education and how to fill out a job application. I think hip hop has clouded the minds of dumbass people with the image of being a "Baller". A true "Baller" to me is someone who goes to work everyday, pays his/her bills, and stays out of the laws way. I know some douchebag who works with me that drives a 2007 Tahoe with 24"rims on it, but lives at home with his momma. What is that? That's not "Baller", that's Loser, L.A. douche!

The opener was right about CIA trafficking drugs into the black community.

That's IS valid.

The rap part? I don't really know, I don't listen to hardcore rap, just the nice n slow mixed stuff.

Gotta like the beat =D.

I like rap music. I was raised on R&B/Soul rap. Rap developed into a new form of music expression with strong R&B roots i.e. "Chic track "Good Times". The earliest groups are the likes of "Grand Master Flash, Spoonie Gee, Sugar Hill Gang, I’m sure they were not CIA you moron. Sugar hill Gang was the first successful rap tune with the R&B group called Chic as their main music track. Welcome to the generation of Mixing and Sampling.

If you knew anything about of Rap music you would know that the cussing and swearing didn’t really start until after the Rodney King LA Police Gangster Thug beating. But it was a trend and has died out. Groups like NWA were fed up with the BS. So they said nationally Fu... the Poo. Which at times, I agree... There are people that take it to the extremes, which are not a positive thing for young ears. Activist like Mr. Sharpton began getting the message across that the swearing and negativity in the lyrics are inappropriate.

However today on Fox.com. , They were praising Racist Punk/Skinhead groups, wishing death upon not just blacks, but people of any color except white. So hate and stupidity is in your bloodline also. You were raised on R&R/country. That's why you like it. Personally I think country sucks. However the country music industry has embraced some rappers and has collaborated with them artistically.

I'm black, own 2 houses, 2 boats and generate over 100,000.00 G's annually working a real 9-5. The "G" Don’t stand for Gangster. Don’t talk about violence until you look at America’s history. The non-rappers are the most violent, bunch of killers in man's creation. You’ve people killed more bitches n ho’s than any rapper ever rapped about. Look in the mirror. You and racist people like yourself are enemy. The US government, the CIA and US police departments the real gangsters. Focus your energy on real crime and real issues that matter. Instead of a bunchy silly spoiled, overpaid rich black kids. yess yess yall...

Last bring your coward ass to the hood and talk that trash and see what happens.

I found all of your claims to be circumstantial with no evidence, and very little proof of any thing. what you said was border line racist.

Secondly, how do you explain bands like The Flobots? Or Bands like Rage Against the Machine who use hip-hop and rap-esque styles to portray their message of how the world IS wrong, and how our GOVERNMENT SUCKS, and so on and so forth.

You have no real evidence, just your biast suggestions about rap.

Where the hell did you people learn to spell???

I've read every comment on this thread so far and almost every single one has really stupid misspells.

The title of the thread says it all... "CIA invented rap TOO destroy the black community!"

Pritty?

I got my education in public school like the rest of you, but at least I can spell and I know how to use words correctly.

Get a dictionary. Take some classes. If you still have all your english books from elementary scool get them out and read them.

Good heavens!!

Rage is the best band to come out in the last 15 years in my opinion! Seen them live 3 times latest being last year at coachella and what Zach has to say must be written down and studied by the youngsters. All the Hip hop haters just can't understand why hip hop is so influential to so many different styles of music. I really hate the watered down stuff going on right now but:1. the ladies love it 2: the production has surpassed the lyrical content and 3. The ladies love it and shake thier money makers to it alot more than the wack gansta stuff!

Pharrell Williams was interviewed by Howard Stern and few months ago and was asked "How do you come up with so many different types of beats in such a small amount of time?" He said that his motivation is he wants every woman at the club or party to put down her drink and run to the dance floor. That's what its about in 2009. By the way he also is one of the few producers who actually write their own music. I know crazy but the Neptunes use live instruments in all their track, and add bridges and breakdowns to their "dangerous" black music.

For the record all the people saying they don't respect hip hop because of the use of the words bitch or ho, please realize and wake up to the fact that there are some scandalous women out there who thrive off tricking a guy out of his money. The use of the words should be taken as reality inspired lyrics that mirror what's going on in the streets. Of course you people don't want to admit that fact but go ahead and just ignore it! The worlds filled with respectable, honorable women who just want to be appreciated. Keep telling yourself that over and over, mean while us in the know will live by the guy code of "Respect is earned, not given"!

peace-go lakers

Akir, Atmosphere, Blue Sky Black Death, Brother Ali, Cage, Cunninlynguists, Dark Tower, Dead Prez, Jel, KRS One, Lightheaded, Living Legends, NMS, Non Phixion, Non Prophets, Organized Konfusion, Phoenix Orion, Poor Righteous Teachers, Promoe, Psycho Realm, Qwel, Sabac Red, Skinnyman, The Herd, Wise Intelligent, X-Clan.
That's just a few good hip hop artists that I like, and might change the OP's opinion of rap.
But I do think the CIA could quite likely be promoting the more violent rap artists. I have heard that it is a continuation of CoIntelPro.

Actually, yeah, without hard evidence, that is racist. "90% of crime" is overly simplistic since many "crimes" are controversial.

Ever hear of the slave trade and PTSD? Free labor for 400 years is a helluva head start. Plus, nowadays a lot of Black people are actually supporting the white man because they are brainwashed to believe that they have no other choice.

What you probably don't know about Mexicans is that there is a movement to reclaim their "homeland." Some Mexican gangs are even trying to steal turf from the Black gangs.

Didn't Biggie have Tupac shot? Or was Tupac an agent who went rogue and so the CIA took care of a rogue agent?

Somebody had Tupac shot when he was at a studio going to record a song, but the guy ended up robbing him. Tupac suspected that Biggie and Puff Daddy knew some information because they knew the security staff at the studio. When he asked them they chose to keep quiet.

I was there when Rap started. It started in Queens, New York in the early to mid 80s. I ate hot dogs in the park while listening to Kool G Rap being played on speakers, and my uncle mixing records on his turntables.

Believe me, Rap music was not invented by the CIA. My uncle knows rappers, and they don't have any ties to people in the CIA.

Very funny post.

I cant agree more. I am a fan of rap music. Raised in an urban area and have experienced much if not all of what is mentioned in rap songs. What some don't realize is that rap music has been the soundtrack to our lives for a long time. Culture is vital in regards to the mindstate of a person. Now I can not definitely say that the CIA created rap music but I will say that I do believe that the culture behind it was most definitely staged. Our streets were flooded with drugs. Yes, we rap about it but how would we know about it if we weren't gifted with it. We wouldn't live it if we didn't experience it. It is sad. I get really upset when I listen to some of the things rappers say on stage. It is crazy. This is not RACIST! Come on. I am sick of this racist word flying around one dimensionally. Rap music is not about race it is about culture. Hip-hop or Gangster rap has been instrumental in teaching our women or young daughters that we are supposed to shake our a!$ and wear tight clothing. No, we should not all take the advice but alot of girls do. Yes selling and killing goes on but the question is why?? Why are we killing eachother and WHY are we selling coc aine and crack??? Come on yall open your minds a bit and think for once that maybe we black people aren't only ignorant, flashy, egotistical gangsters who kill, rob, and steal for no reason. If not this that what is the true answer?? It is time to be honest. Honestly it is another form of mind control. Get a few extremely rich off rap, basketball and such things to fool the rest into believing this is the only way. I am thankful for Obama mainly because what he represents teaches us all the we can ALL truly be something great! I love rap music, it is the soundtrack to my life. Luckily I know how to decipher it.
