Man works for 40+ years to amass as much material wealth as he is capable.

Man makes very poor choices about his health, relationships, and personal well being to deal with the stress of amassing said wealth.

Man retires, and uses all amassed wealth in a fruitless attempt to regain health, relationships, and well being before dying alone, and miserable.

its funny when i used to work with my dad, id be there with him and his co-workers and they would always complain about it being Monday or about working

to cheer everyone up my dad would say, "what comes after Monday?" and the punch line was "Friday"

indicating that the week goes by very fast

and for years he said this

but when i came on to the job (for about 1 month and a half) i heard him say this and i replied to everyone

"what comes after friday?" the punch line is "Monday"

at first this was meant as a clever depressing joke

but it got me thinking that the average working man spends his entire life going from Monday to Friday to Monday

and that he is stuck in this never ending cycle, never to come out,

and i promised myself i would never get caught up in that cycle.
