The economy collapses in various parts of the world simultaneously.
Eastern Europe is already breaking apart. Western European countries who lent billions of euros to them are getting drown with them. On top of the falling Western European countries is Sweden, Greece, Hungary, Austria, Italy, Belgium.
So, Europe is breaking apart besides the US and not as a direct consequence.

I don't think I need to mention the situation in the US. It's already apart.

The consequences for World trade? It's gonna get wiped out what will lead to shortages in various areas especially big cities.

Besides all that you have a war going on in the Middle East that is spreading like wild fire....

It is a dog eat dog world. The big difference is that we have laws that hold the dogs in check, in some ways. When the world economic system collapses, these laws will be unenforcable. Every man and woman will need to be prepared to defend themselves, and whatever supplies they have stasted.
I would recommend the following.
1. Learn how to make alcohol, for drinking and for fuel. (And make sure you know the difference.
2. Stock up on weapons. Handguns, rifles, and shotguns. One of the shotguns should be sawed off. The barrel should be at least 18.5 inches long. (18 inches is the legal length, but keep it a little longer, in case the cop's ruler is "off."
3. It may sound stupid, but be sure you have enough ammo for all your weapons, and don't forget the lowly .22 cal. It's amazing how deadly a .22 can be.
4. Stock up on foods that can be prepared with water, or just heat and eat. Stock up on powdered milk.
5. Utilities will fail. Stock up on water. A couple of drops of bleach to a gallon will keep it drinkable.
6. Stock up on as much gasoline and kerosene as you can safely store.
7. Purchase a generator.
8. Keep extra "stuff" around for barter.
9. Hit flea markets. Buy axes, machetes, knives etc. Keep them sharp and ready. You will be surprised how much you will be able to trade for a good axe, hatchet, or anything with a blade.
10. Remember, the world will be in chaos. To quote from the X-Files, "Trust no one."
11. You, and each member of your family must have a BOB in case you have to cut and run in a hurry.;

So, basically you're preparing for war!

Good, that's exactly what the "elite" wants you to do....civil war and chaos.

This is a time where WE should stand together not kill each other for a hot potato....
Together we have nothing to fear BUT divided we are lost.
Sad, that most of the people here aren't smart to figure that out!

A new underground economy would thrive with barter being the main source of trade. Find a need an fill it this is how this country was built.

Once the US simply diminishes in it's importance [it doesn't even necessarily have to fall completely], there will be a huge vacuum that'll need to be filled. Until a country(ies) are able to fill the spot that the US is in, things will continue to spiral downward and downward. I think, just as a previous commenter said, this is when the NWO will step in a do it's thing. If not the NWO right off the bat, I think the EU will, which will simply be a precursor to the New World Order.

Until either of those things happen though, the world will definitely be set back for a little bit. The United States gives so much money in aid and investment in technology [beit directly or via people consuming things and what not] and such...things just won't be pretty.

It is more likely that by last moment efforts to prevent US economic collapse the weaker global economies will collapse BEFORE the US economy.

In fact it is already happening... When major economies like China Europe, and Japan individually or collectively "collapse" this is likely the only early warning Americans will have of a US economic collapse.

The global markets/exchanges are already in survival mode, recession is rampant... Only a miracle will halt the fall.

Pray for miracles if you can.

How come we will be screwed in the NWO does come into existence? I will be happy as long as I can work and feed my family. If the NWO can provide some stability, I say sign me up.

I find it funny that everyone is always talking about the collapse of the US economy, yet nobody on this board ever talks about how the rest of the world is worse off then they are. If I were you I would be more concerned about the rest of the world then the US. In the coming months you are going to see that both Europe, the UK, and Russia are far worse off then the USA. Guess you can add those oil producing countries as well as Japan. Some say the UK is already in a depression and Europe will soon follow. I would be willing to bet that those countries will be hit harder then the USA and will also hurt longer. You can take that to the Bank.

1. A lot of countries that make our products will only be semi-effected, the people will go back to farming as the factories close, seeing as how near everything they buy is domestic they shouldn't have much trouble. Examples. Philipines, Malaysia, etc.

2. Capitalist dictatorships such as Russia will collapse fast and hard, with many of Russia's people having longer life expectancy under communism...expect a new communist superpower, then the atrocities yada yada yada.

3. Latin America...soooooo screwd.....the US has repeatedly sponsored overthrow of democratic governments for the last 100 years causing an already unstable system to be even less stable. Don't be surprised to see spreading of socialism through more than just Venezuala.

4. US. Ramping up of domestic production to compensate for lack of importation. Collapse of the US is more or less impossible as long as people have their televisions and their is food on the shelves and the towers keep broadcasting. I doubt we will have serious food shortages as will still have the breadbasket of the world, just less variety.

5. Denmark, Sweden etc. will keep chugging along like nothing happened rebuilding their economy around new international needs.

6. West Europe. Not entirely sure, they've always given their leaders a lot more hell than we ever do so I really don't know, probably throw out the old government and put a new one in.

7. East Europe. Could go communism again if it got bad enough...rejoin the new Russia perhaps?

8. Africa, not much should be different as most production is domestic their.

9. or I could be wrong.

I am looking for a good book that helps me prepare for the coming collapse, and am considering the book "Aftershock: Protect Yourself and Profit in the Next Global Financial Meltdown" But I know getting the wrong information is sometimes worse than getting no information at all. So I wanted to ask some of you who live in the real world for advise regarding this book, of for suggestions on other literature to read.

short profile:

1 - I grow a garden now
2- Live in rural area
3- Debt free
4- Savings
5 - Healthy
6- Know neighbors (although need to work on neighborhood plan more)
7- have free flowing well that does not require pump.
So I am maybe a little better off than someone that lives in high rise in NY but depends on how the cards fall I guess.

Advise appreciated.

better start learning how to be a whole lot more self sufficient than many are now... NWO would probably step in and then anyone around that is screwed... but the sheeple will flock to that for all their neeeds and do so willingly.... you know that expression "cradle to grave care" ..

weak people do not impress me... they have their uses though... not many , but a few uses.

If america crashes the rest of the world will go on without us. In spite of what Americans think of themselves we are not that important to the survival of the world.

If the the economy crashes it will level the playing field and the people who can actually 'do' something of value will regain their power. The Wallstreeters, bankers, lawyers and Government agencies need 'us'. We stopped needing 'them' some time ago.

Which reports? I've heard the same on CNN, and Fox news, but those reports were fabricated in an attempt to raise public trust in both the government, and stock market. That way, people would 'believe' that the system works, and that the foundation of it isn't imaginary, (even though it actually is), therefore putting our economy back on track.

It's a cyclical move, but it's end result is usually confusion, and wrong information being put out into the public consciousness.
