I'm wondering what the cumulative value of the negative speculation and fear mongering that is going on not only here, but in the media, in corporate America, and even in the government itself will have on the eventual outcome of these things.
Never has the phrase 'self fulfilling prophecy' been less just a phrase to me and more something that I watch unfold before my eyes.
I was hoping that Americans would just do what Americans do best, and go on spending money like they always have. But wait - they haven't really spent actual money in the last 20 years, it's just been credit. Oh, so there you go.
I think the more we try to be positive regardless of what is obviously a very negative situation, the easier it would be to ride this out.

I guess what I'm trying to say is... if Fox news has anything to do with it, no matter if it's the truth or not, I'll look for a more reliable source.... which isn't hard to do when I consider my 3 year old nephew (or even theonion.com) a more reliable source than them.
