If there was one song not to pick, Matt picked it. Hard pressed to perform that and not sound karaoke. Kris was brilliant last night because he picked a song that is another typical karaoke song that people would get blasted for, but he changed it around so much that it was really something he could release.

Adam and Danny are both great singers, but Kris is truly an artist of music. Although, an easy case could be made for Adam as well with what he's done in his performances.

I agree that Kris and Adam are the artists among the groups. I really hope it is between Adam and Kris, but I think goody-goody Danny will knock off one of them.

Last night's show did have a surprise as Allison was in the bottom three. She is a rocker so her appeal is limited, but I thought Matt would be in the bottom three. You are correct about picking a Bee Gees song not being good for Matt, Chissler, but he managed to survive this week.

Lil's fan base did not show up to support her, and she is gone. There is no real surprise that Anoop has joined her. He should be happy he got as far as he did, since he was the 13th pick out of 12.

Next week, Allison and Matt will battle for the right to stay next week. They both have to really perform well to survive, and Allison has an advantage of being the only girl.

Lambert can sing, I will admit that. I just don't like his style and I really hope that he doesn't win this.

I'm pulling for Danny, I think he's the best over all.

Doesn't really matter though, all 5 will end up doing something big.

While I like Danny's vocals (as I like all of the singers this time around), he seems a bit karaoke when it comes to artistry. I have heard Danny before, but I am always eager to see what Adam or Kris will do. Danny is the safe choice the grandmas are voting for, but Adam and Kris are the best artists this time around.

I will agree that Danny should win since he will be under a contract with not much control. While that would hinder Adam and Kris, Danny would do just fine.

I believe anyone who appears on the shows where America votes has signed over their rights. So people who make the top 24 or 30 I believe it might have been this year have signed the same deals that finish 2nd or 3rd. I believe that is the case.

So the person who wins the show isn't under any more or less contractual obligations or expectations than those who don't. Basically, none of them have any control over their careers in the immediate future. A price some seem willing to pay in order to use this show as a platform to get their name out there.

The first place winner gets a contract with RCA Records. The other people can pick and choose what they want to do next. Chris Daughtry is an example of doing what he wanted to do, and that was to start his own band. While many of them also sign record deals, they usually can pick and choose the clauses.

This is the case of if one loses, they win.

The singers did songs from the Rat Pack Era (from the 1950s to the early 1960s), and Jamie Fox was the coach (I am still puzzled as to why).

Kris was good, but he played it safe. I think that is wise given the subject tonight.

Allison showed a different side other than that of rocker girl, and she was really good. I agree with what Simon says that she does not believe she is going to win, and that will hurt her in getting votes.

Matt was good too, but not brilliant like Simon stated. I thought he was better than Kris and Danny, but that is my opinion. The only way he can survive tonight is to get the votes that Anoop and Lil were getting. I would guess that Matt is going home tonight, but would not be surprised if Allison went instead.

Danny started off good, but ended up screaming the song at the end. The judges overpraised him, with Paula stating he will win again. I am not the biggest fan of Danny, but he has a huge following and will win the competition.

Adam once again had a showstopping performance. People either love him or hate him, but he knows he is the best singer and performer by a mile. Safe is not a word to use when he comes out on stage, and the others should try some risks. My favorite contestant, and once he leaves I will not watch the rest of the show.

Adam has blown me away every week.
He is the most memorable performer for me, i find i cant wait to see what he is going to do next.
If Adam put a cd out now i would buy it,,,,,He is ready IMO.

I have a soft spot for Alison, i hope she survives tonight and if she does i hope she pulls out a big one.

As much as i appreciate the other guys vocal talents they dont do much for me.

Personally i thought Jamie Fox was great,,i loved him in "Ray"

I now know why Jamie Fox was picked: He had a movie to plug.

I was surprised to see Adam at number four. I should have expected it, as Allison is now the only girl and will get that vote. I think Adam will be gone next week, as the other three have a fan base now. The voters who pick Danny and Kris will never vote for Adam. Here are my predictions:

4. Adam (He will probably be quite successful on the outside, but I do think he wants to win the competition. He should also know it is not a talent contest, but a popularity one. How else do you explain Megan and Michael surviving as long as they did?)

3. Allison (She has a great voice and will be topped off by the voters who will only vote for a girl. She might be number four, but I am basing this on the latest vote.)

2. Kris (The only way he can win is to siphon off votes from Danny. I do not think he will pull that off.)

1. Danny (Danny has a rabid fan base, and they also fall for the widow and good Christian boy aspects of him. I am not a big fan, but I do think he can sing. He should also do quite well in the pop charts.)

Yep, definitely a different dynamic now, but I think your assessment is spot on.....

To be honest, I lose interest after just knowing who'll be on the tour...as no doubt, my wife will want to see it, and it won't matter who won or lost, as they all get the same exposure on the tour....

I would think that they would spotlight the top four or five. That may be the reason why the concerts have not been doing so well lately.

It was rock night last night, so Adam and Allison were in their area of expertise. Adam opened the night and was the best of the night. Allison was good, but I agree with the judges there were other songs for her range. Danny and Kris had an off night, but they will survive because it is a popularity and not a talent contest. Danny was actually painful to watch, and if people voted on performances, he would go home.

I am predicting Adam will go home tonight. He and Allison should skip the "Top Ten" tour and go on the road together. They had fun last night, while the other two did not.

It was the end of the line for an incredible ride by Allison. She should be quite proud for being the highest rated girl, as Lil and Alexis were predicted to be in the Final Four. I was a bit surprised, as I though she would have the support being the only female left. Adam may benefit, as he is the only rocker left. Kris and Danny are the ballad types, and they may compete against each other for votes.

I will still say this is going to be between Kris and Danny, although after tonight I would not bet on it.

I've been to a couple of them...and none of them did. The winner basically closes the show with the final number, but that's really about it. Other reality show contest tours are very similar...(So you think you can dance, Dancing with the stars, etc.). I often found myself wondering who won again?

My thoughts on tonight's show.

I'm completely disgusted with the lobbying the judges are doing to have "their picks" in the final show. They blatantly favor Adam and Simon capped the night off with a plea to the American public to vote for him. ..because he's talented. Yes, the guy is talented. A few weeks ago I was a fan of his. But over the weeks I've been increasingly annoyed with his high pitch voice that now comes across as painful shrieks.

Danny was mediocre tonight and I think it should come down to those two of who should have the second place in next week's finale.

Kris tonight was brilliant. His first performance of Apologize, which is a song I love, was pretty good. Not great and it certainly could have been better. But it was good. His performance of Kanye's Heartless was not only completely unexpected and one of the best song choices of the season, but it was also one of, if not, the best performance of the season. And it couldn't have come at a better time.

All three are great singers, no doubt. But, in my opinion, Kris is the best artist and the most relevant.

At this point, he's the only one that I'd actually buy an album from.

I think it will be Kris and Adam in the finale'. I too, have often been annoyed by Adam's screeching, but he's got the prepubescent girl vote locked up...so he'll be there.

I think Kris goofed with the falsetto in Apologize...would have been much better if he stuck with his stronger voice, but yeah, he did a great job on the last song.

I though Danny blew it on his second song, could barely hear the guy, and I was waiting for a reality check from Simon that never came...guess it sounded better live...

A point of interest is that Danny and Kris have never been in the bottom 2, while Adam has. Might it suggest a stronger fan base? I believe Allison's fan base are likely to turn to Adam though.

Very excited and somewhat surprised that Kris was able to make it through.

His second performance last night was enough to put him through.

They said that there was less than a million votes separating the two. So with that said, I think it is safe to say that the majority of Danny's fan base will see a smoother transition to Kris than Adam. I think Danny could have benefited from Adam's fan base.. but now Kris will benefit from Danny's. It's going to be a great finale.

When watching the performances, I thought Danny was shouting the songs. That does seem to be a problem of his in the last few performances. I also noticed the band was drowning out Adam in his second performance. I like Adam, but thought that he would not be in the final two as Danny gets votes no matter how bad he is. Kris is quite good, and I was very happy to see him go onto the finale.

I think Kris will win it, but the teeny-boppers who vote for him should not take it for granted like last year. They forgot to vote for David A, and David Cook won the competition. While Adam has a rabid fan base, those who hate him are equally rabid. Kris always got the teen girl vote because of his looks (not that he did not deserve to advance as he has a great voice).

Adam may have received the majority of votes from the Allison camp. He is the best vocalist of the show by far. While it seems the judges prefer him, I never got their over praising of Danny Gokey. He had a nice voice, but his shouting would have been called out had another singer done that.

Should be an interesting finale'... I'm thinking Adam will win it, but whatever the verdict, should be a close one...

Either way, I'd bet both have good futures, as long as they strike while the iron is hot, and don't wait forever like some past Idols have, only to then realize disappointing debuts.....
