Hidden Spy Camera & Mic Found Inside Digital TV Box

I have always checked this site found it interesting ,registered a few times forgot about it & reregistered So Im new but not really, anyway , on this camera thing Well I do find it a bit odd with the cam being so close to what appears to be a transformer , wouldn't the transformer create a electromagnetic field that would interfere with the cam?
As far as transmitting the data I wouldn't rule anything out , there is something called broadband over power lines where your modem is plugged into any electrical outlet & delivers all the internet to you through power lines , also have you seen the thermostats that allow the power companies to control your ac during peak periods , ? they actually have a small antenna in them for this, but you wouldn't know by just looking at them externally sometimes you really have to think outside the box of what could be possible before ruling things out
as far as why ? who knows I cant see the value but then again all the little scraps of data collected from all kinds of different sources could be valuable to someone I suppose so who knows ....

& it appears to be just stuck on ,...also the circuit doesn't appear to be any different from the stock models which would indicate no such additional functions were built in...

interesting as to why someone would do this I mean no one likes a hoaxer
maybe some type of agenda to discredit conspiracies , or just someone who gets a kick out of this sort of thing ,....anyway although this appears to be a hoax , I still think this would be possible using broadband over power lines for the data transmission .

*Edit Again* actually if you read all the response post in the above link it looks like this is some sort of experiment in boosting web traffic? by someone who has a history of doing this....well then next time a hidden camera shows up , we know what we should be looking for dont we...

Just to keep this thread going. I predict that within 2 or 3 years that consumers will be buying televisions WITH webcams installed in them. Not so the government can spy on them, but so they can talk to Aunt Millie across the cable infrastructure for almost nothing.

I have two of that model and guess what? No camera or Mic. And if you look closely at the vid you will notice the camera is NOT wired in. And the magnetic field set up by the transformer would fry the camera. And just try and get a mic that close to a transformer and all yoy will get is 60 cycle line noise. Now a little history on this. It seems that people have thought that TV's and TV related devices have always had the ability to see the user. I have heard more than a few tells of people that used to cover the TV set with a blanket when not watching it. I had a co-worker once that told me that mis grandmother did that for fear of being watched. The TV is watching you bit is as old as TV itself. The only thing is now the tech is there. I would be more afraid of my Sat-TV box or computer than my TV or Digital Converter box watching me.

The time to get all paranoid is when they come out with cameras and microphones installed in toilets.

Oh wait...never use a rest area rest room...those little red sensors in front of the stalls are really cameras! Those little reflectors along the highways and roads every 100 feet are really cameras!! The divider line refelctors..yep them are cameras too!!!!

That tree over there is a disquised camera!!!

That trash can!!!

That bench!!!

The eye glasses the person has on next to you in line...camera!!!!

Oh no....all these flat pannel LCD screens for computers...got cameras in em!!!!

ACK!!! That dang remote keyless entry/start thing has a camera!!!!!!

WE ARE SURROUNDED BY CAMERAS!!!!

Actually cameras in toilets are nothing new. You know that little hole at the bottom of the toilet? The one at the back? Ever wonder what it is for? That's the hole for the secret government camera in the bottom of the toilet. These have been around for decades so that the government can tell who wipes and who doesn't. They also let your mom know if you are wearing clean underwear. That's how she always knew.

Maybe we should make a video about taking a toilet apart and finding a camera? I'll bet we could get a million views on U-Tube.

Jeez, some people don't even have a clue yet they go right ahead and consider themselves experts on things they know nothing about.

His so called "microphone" is a variable resistor, very similar to what is shown here

I'm not sure what his "camera" may be, but there are no wires or leads attached to it.
It's probably some type of dampening rubber cushion pad to keep the transformer from buzzing or something.

This makes me wonder with all the cameras how many times I am caught picking my nose when I think no one is looking?

The NWO could then compile an embarrassing montage and post it on youtube, not to mention all the times I think I can rip a fart when no one is around... all that embarrassing activity now caught globalist spy cams.

I'll have to think twice before let loose in the privacy of my alter-ego, nose-picking flatulent life.

A potentiometer is a variable resistor; A volume control, etc... IT CAN be a slider, or a knob; I have them all in my MIDI gear. - I knew this must be a hoax, as many people have been taking things apart for a long time...

Well, they don't have to record YOU, and unless you are going out on the front line, like me, you don't have to worry about being made to look like a fool in public, as you just did it to yourself with your open admiting of picking your nose & farting everywhere...

I was just joking around, there are lots of potentially personal and secret lives we live that could be revealed if this technology is deployed against us.

Just imagine your love life being exposed to this technology... that is a hideous thought.

Not saying this is true, but there is no question we live in this age where it can quickly become true.

If there's really a camera and mic in there I want to see someone hook up to them and show us the video and audio quality. Shouldn't be too hard or take very long for somebody to do if there is a real camera in there.

While what you say may be true regarding the box's inability to transmit a signal, I can't help but think you are foolish to think that you, as an individual peon, are more aware of the newest and most powerful technology in spyware than our own Federal Government. It takes audacity to claim something like that.

Someone said the a digi box could not transmit.

Although this particular piece of work may or may not be true. There has always been since practically it's inception the capability for two way transmissions in cable boxes going back to the 1960's I personnally attended a conference back then to protest and stop this technology from being used. So, keep this in mind someone maybe trying to warn us about this enforced digital tv transition. Why are they so anxius to change to digital. Not hat the digital pic isn't good. It's the whole force everybody to convert that you have to wonder about. Also, there are technologies out there that we know little or nothing about that are fully functional and can be used for covert surveillance. That is sound and picture transmission and can be operated by key words or phrases or actions you say or do in your home. Big Brother Is Watching is more a reality then people think; a totally surveillanced world and the end to privacy is right around the bend.
NWO is still on the move, so keep your eyes and ears open and watch your Cable boxes they already have DVR recording capability, what else don't you know about.
