Oh, the ever so returning orb-discussion...

I you want to see what an orb looks like; this is an orb:

What your friend posted is most likely, dirt, dust or humiditiy of some sort...like in 9 out of 10 orb-related photo studies.
One tell-tale sign of the orb being nothing but the above mentioned, is the caption: "when I took the picture, there was nothing there...but afterwards...

Besides...no offence, but what the hell was she trying to photograph?

i think most people are uneducated as far as real-world physics go, and want there to exist something more mystical than the boring life they live so they believe in orbs.

they're really just pieces of lint.. our houses are filled with dust inthe air.. when one speck of a camera flash catches one.. people think they are ghosts.

now.. that's not to say that there AREN'T mysteries and things of the unseen.. and immense secrets beyond what we know..

i just think that those orbs in those pictures are pieces of dust reflecting light.. and the light spreads into a circular shape through the camera lense.

now.. if you REALLY want to freak your friend out.. have her take a look at images of that same dust .. using a high powered electronmicroscope and see what actually LIVES ON those pieces of lint.. heheh..

lots of tiiiiny scary critters...

so yeah.. plenty of LIFE there...
just not the light-orb type.

or yeah it could be moisture int he air too..

and by the way.. what the hell was your friend trying to take photos of anyway??

Orbs are reflections. Of camera flashes bouncing off dust particles in the air. I can't believe I'm writing this for the thousandth time.

Here, I'm just going to make a comprehensive guide and never talk about it again:

Should you bother posting your orb photos?
- Did you use a camera flash to take the photo?
- Is the orb perfectly round?
- Is the orb grey?

If you answered yes to any of these, STOP POSTING YOUR DAMN PICTURES OF DUST.

well lots of people are going to tell you all orbs like those are dust... we got the same thing. then we got pictures of them moving, and that was a whole new ball game.

when we came for the 2nd time to look at our home, before buying it, I was taking pictures, and in the garage we picked up a very bright orange orb - that was pretty wild.

but I still don't think all supposed "dust reflection orbs" are just dust. but then, I'm not a total naysayer.

I'd share a picture here, but I'm new, and I'm not sure how. maybe I'm not allowed yet? but when I figure it out, I will do so - both of the moving orb and the orange orb.

Nothing supernatural here I'm afraid, this whole orb fad is damaging to serious studies of the paranormal. I wish they'd stop.
