When will earth develop technology to travel to other planets?

Because I didn't know where to post this thread, I post it here.

What do you think when will people develop technology to travel to other planets ( i mean planets that are more far away from Earth )?
I am pretty sure that it will happen sooner or later, but question is when?

They have already had it for years. Even the ex-director of Lockheed Martin's SkunkWorks said we already have the means to travel the stars but it's all locked up in black projects and would never be released to benefit humanity.

Some guy was on coast 2 coast am the other night and he said his old friend who worked in the military has been involved in deep space battles.
