Vaccine-Autism Link Ruled Out By Court

www.cbsnews.com

A special U.S. vaccine court ruled against parents with autistic children Thursday, saying that vaccines are not to blame for their children's neurological disorder.

The judges in the cases said the evidence was overwhelmingly contrary to the parents' claims - and backed years of science that found no risk.

"It was abundantly clear that petitioners' theories of causation were speculative and unpersuasive," the court concluded in one of a trio of cases ruled on Thursday.

Of course, this will not end the vaccine/autism speculation.

I think that parents want to find out why their children developed autism. I've always been a little skeptical about this connection.

There are lots of other possible causes. Children are exposed to a variety of agents that are different then things that our ancestors were exposed to.

Just think about the society is which we live. Think about the cleaning products that are in the average home. Think about the pollutants in the air. Think about how materials are manufactured. Think about our homes. We have synthetic carpets, synthetic cloths, paints, makeup, beauty aids, air fresheners, hand sanitizers etc. We have so many products today that never existed 50 years ago.

If I were going to bring children into the world in this day and age, I would seriously review my home and lifestyle before conception just to increase the odds for my future kids.

"A special U.S. vaccine court"

Notice, it was a court, not a jury, who made the 'declaration'.

If you can't see why that's significant, perhaps I shouldn't bother commenting further.

I thought that this was an interesting piece of news.

I also think that there are many things that could contribute to autism, not just vaccines.

There hasn't been any mercury in vaccines for some time yet autism is still here.
