I present to you an opportunity, I am a senior in high school and I have a public speaking final in 2 weeks, I'm going to present whatever I want to the student body en mass. What should we let them know

Well, next year I will have a house full of high school students! Some of the most important things I try to stress to them are the following:

1. Personal Responsibility
2. The Golden Rule
3. Critical Thinking
4. A Great Sense of Humor
5. (They never believe this one) No matter how bad you want something now, chances are you won't want it ten years from now.

Good luck with your presentation!

There are a number of things you could talk about.

But if it were me, I'd remember this one thing, Most High School stundents don't want to be informed about the world they live in. They want to be entertained. They have had to deal with the educational system for 10+ years, and the last thng they want from you is more education.

So I'd try to be funny in order to catch their attention, but also deliver a very powerful message at the same time.

something like this....

How the monetary system of today works, and the danger of hyperinflation & the danger of the dollar collapsing due to the spending & money printing frenzy the fed is in. But that's just what I personally would talk about...

The biggest thing, and perhaps the most obvious, the world is EXTREMELY DIFFERENT than anything you ever think it is while you're in High School.

You're going to need courage, resolve, intelligence, and respect out there.

But yeah I agree with some of the above also... tell them the truth about the Federal Reserve and explain to them they're going to live in debt for the entirety of the existence. Tell them the more money they have the more debt they have, because ultimately that dollar in your hand is owed to someone else. That'll blow their mind hehe

Maybe explain that life from there on out will seem to accelerate in time and it's of the utmost importance to find something that makes you HAPPY and distance yourself as far away as you can from the desire for money (the root of all evil). Money is necessary... but their simply is no point to spend your entire life busting balls to make money. Find the balance of happiness and work, keeping in mind you do need both but significantly more of the first.

I would tell them this:

That sex is a natural phenomena, and when you are young it can be one of the greatest gifts and the most pleasurable too.

But often people are manipulated into having sex before they are truly ready, and that is shame. Because when love and only love is between two people that have a sexual attraction it has a quality of bliss, of a higher spiritual energy.

Yet when it is time and you are ready, and two hearts are prepared in all responsible manner first such as complete protection, then the next step is to go to the local clinic or your Doctor and GET AIDS tested.

If he/she truly loves you, then they will understand. It has nothing to with being a virgin either, it has to do with responsibility in this day and age.

And if they cannot be mature enough to discuss openly all the aspects of becoming sexually active with you, eye to eye honest, then STOP!!!

Go no further with this person, cry, eat a container of hagendas or a box of chocolate, but STOP before you make a huge mistake.

There is nothing greater than young love, but be prepared and responsible.

I got as couple for ya. Pick what ever ya like.

Learn to read and practice the skill everyday. Preferably with books.

Turn off the tv and never turn it back on.

Every politician is a liar.

Never accept a credit card until you have a full time job that pays more than 35,000 a year.

Learn to cook and never go into a McD's or the like again.

Every politician is a liar.

Never accept because I said so or because I know what is good for you as an answer.

Trades are just as valuable as degrees.

Every politician is a liar.

I would research as much accurate information I could on the Illuminati, and tell them exactly how life is, and how it's going to be if they and others don't do something now!!!!

Well, from a "Conspiracy" point of view. I would say, though it will be very difficult to do this correctly, the most important thing is to understand that the mind of everyone is a terrible liar and people are very, very weak. Therefore people are very easily corrupted but accepting a "Belief". People can justify almost anything with the right pattern of rationals fed to them. Therefore, people need to realize that the world is never a safe and trustworthy place. That most of what they will be fed is designed to deceive and manipulate them. Almost all of what they come to believe is not going to be really true. Therefore, do not place your trust in others nor in governments or corporations or social structures such as social religions. Do not place your trust in yourself, do not think you are powerful and in control. Realize also that our time in the world is very limited and great opportunities are being lost by focusing on the world as if it is our true home which it never can be.

I would tell them to simply teach infinite love to one another because that is what we all are in reality.

Here are a few tips

Throw in obscure references - Even if nobody else gets them you will, and if somebody else gets it they will like the speech and be 10x more interested in what you have to say. Make it funny but only for those who get it.
Like for example, say you're talking about denver..
"I went to the airport and there were all kinds of people, there were hippies hobo's, freaks geeks, people of every ethnicity, tall people short people...scaly people..."

Get it?

Tell people to relax and enjoy themselves - Life isn't all about good grades and good money, tell them real enjoyment comes from not taking life or yourself too seriously.

Tell them to make mistakes - All the way throughout school you've been taught that mistakes are bad, this is illogical. If mistakes aren't made then you don't learn from them. Tell your classmates not to be afraid of mistakes or imperfections.

Tell them to feel and not to be afraid of their emotions - David Gilmour said it best:
"To martyr yourself to caution
Is not going to help at all
because there'll be no safety in numbers
When the right one walks out of the door"

MOST IMPORTANTLY
FOR GOD SAKES TELL THEM TO THINK FOR THEMSELVES AND TO EXAMINE THEIR LIVES TO THE GREATEST OF THEIR ABILITY.
The unexamined life isn't worth living...

I graduated HS a couple years ago, I would've listened to these points.

Present them with information. Not mainstream information, but information from websites such as Abovetopsecret.com. Whether it be UFO's, government cover-ups/conspiracies, the lies they are being told about the Moon, Mars, space itself, I could go on forever. Basically, inform them.

With every action comes an opposite and equal reaction. (what goes around comes around)

Knowledge alone is nothing but an answer and serves as a burden on your conscience when understood. It becomes power when action is taken with responsibility and welcomed accountability for that action. Thats half the battle.

Its all about being yourself, screw what everyone else thinks because they will never be living your life.

To many kids try and fit in and be cool, individuality is the most important thing in life.

Drive fast and take chances.

But seriously I would suggest to live by the golden rule.

Or

Do everything in moderation.

I would tell them to enjoy these years of their life as much as they can because when they graduate high school, their life will change. They will have to get jobs, or go to college, have bills, be responsible for their own medical insurance, car insurance, and everything else that comes with being an adult.

High school is a time for fun, friendships, memories, and no regrets.

i would tell them to get into the field of healthcare because it generally pays well and virtually everything else is up in the air!
