My Name Being Called

I am a little bit hesitant about making this thread In all honesty but it’s a strange occurrence that has happened to me a few times and I would like to have some advice on it.....

a few years ago I was round at my aunties house with my cousin we was sitting watching TV like normal and we was totally alone In the house because my auntie, uncle, and other cousin had all gone to shops so there was definitely no one else in the house apart from me and my cousin

while we was watching TV the freakiest thing that has ever happened to me and in all honesty scared the hell out of me at the time someone in a woman’s voice called my name and it wasn’t like a shout or anything it was almost as if someone called me it was pretty scary

of course me and my cousin was completely freaked out and absolutely terrified we both just ran out of the house like a bunch of girls I was terrified he was terrified both didn’t particularly want to go back into the house I mean we was even reluctant to going back to shut the door that’s how scared we was I was more than willing to just walk away and leave the door open to be honest

although this wasn’t the first time I was freaked out by something in my old house I was in my bedroom with my 2 cousins this time and I don’t know I must have blanked it out or something but for some reason I was absolutely terrified or something just ebing there I remember something happening tha made me scared but not they cant erally remember what happened either it was just pretty terrifying also sorry for being a little bit vague about that one but I cant really say much at all because I cant reslly remember much of what happened just remembering being terrified

so if I had to guess what happened I would say that it may have been possibly as spirit calling me out you know maybe a lost spirit something along those lines and I was thinking maybe I scared it off by me running out of the house with my cousin scared to deaf but the other night I was sitting In my room listening to music and I heard a voice calling my name again although it wasn’t as clear this time it was definitely my name and this time I was on my own

luckily im not really scared of anything like that anymore so I stayed pretty calm during this time although I never heard anything after that also I was 100% it was my name and it im sure it wasn’t my music either just in case a few of you pointed it out that that could have been the cause but I know it definitely wasn’t that because it was on too low and it was completely different to the song I was listening to

So if anyone has any feedback of advice I would love to hear it

I heard my name being yelled out in the hallway from my adjoining bedroom that had a door to the hallway. When I went to look nobody was there but it was clearly an older female's voice I heard. There was no one else in my house at the time.

The exact time I heard the voice in Florida 1,000 miles away my 82 year old aunt was blown from upstairs into the basement by a gas leak explosion and was killed instantly. This all happened at the exact time I heard her voice yelling my name in the hallway of my house.

My aunt and I were close and I was her favorite growing up as a kid. This was truely one of the strangest things that had ever happened in my life time.

Could be what George Carlin describes as the "2 Minute Warning"

Do you sense anything before? Does it sound internal or external? Did your cousin actually hear your name called?

I have also had my name called twice. I don't know what to tell you because I am still unable to explain it except to say that it happened. I felt cold around me... then I took my children for a walk.



It was unnerving but I hope one day I will be able to get passed the fear and find out the why's behind the many experiences I have had.


If I get an uncomfortable feeling now I surround myself with light.

Yep he specifically heard my name being called aswell and it was kind of funny because the look of terror on his face as im sure mine was the same it was funny as ****

but seriously it sounded like it wasn’t too far away from me the one with my cousin present it was as an estimate about a meter away to a few meters away but like I said im not really sure at all but it was fairly close and pretty terrifying

Whoa man that is a pretty bizarre story there pretty incredible that something like that can happen even though you was 1,000 miles apart

Here's my experience .. and there are hundreds more that have blogged the same thing on ATS..

Going to add this event to this post since it's relevant.

About 3 weeks ago, I was laying in bed, after hearing the alarm clock go off, shut it off and laid there for a couple of minutes and then thought "well, I guess I should get up".

Immediately after having that thought.. I physically HEARD a radio transmission along with the mic being keyed... "that is confirmed" or something similar to that!

I FREAKED!

I opened my eyes immediately, looked toward the window which had the blinds shut, but just a bit open to see if the police were in my backyard. I got up, opened the blinds in the bedroom, looked outside, nada. zero, no one there.

I ran to the the sliding glass door, open it up.. walked out side.. nada, zero...no one there. I ran out the front door in hopes to see a police car or some kind of activity going on about the neighbor .. nada zero,, quiet as a mouse. Sky was clear, with a few clouds.

Wow im not really scared anymore although for some reason i used to be scared of this kinda thing (spirituality) a hell of a lot in the past but i dunno really i think i just got over it and accepted that its there and the fear just went with it although if i saw a ghost im sure i would have an element of fear there still

Yes i've heard of the white light exercise a lot in the past used to do it alot when needed aswell thanks for advice still

I know I made the joke abou the 2 minute warning but all jokes aside.
Regarding the Aunt house explosion? Intense feelings can really be influencal, I imagine her side would be very intense. Hard to explain but if you get it you get it.

Maybe like when something bad happens to a family member you get a bad feeling about it. When my dad went into Cardiac Arrests i never knew i was at work and was pissed for no reason at all, it was bizarre especially to coworkers! I was cursing at customers my boss, then my phone rang and it said basically you have 2 hrs to get here before your father dies. I was stunned but It made sense to me that I knew something was going to happen.


I think i ranted and got alittle off topic at the end.

When I was a child, I would frequently hear my name being called. It's happened to me a handful of times when I was completely alone, and it really used to scare the crap out of me because I just couldn't figure out where it was coming from. I don't hear it very often anymore, but off the top of my head I can remember 1 occasion that happened fairly recently, maybe 4 years ago, when I was sitting at home alone and vegging in front of the TV. It scared me pretty bad because I hadn't really thought about this phenomena in quite some time. I ran upstairs to see if maybe my brother was home, but there was nobody at all in the house. Extreme goosebumps and paranoia ensued!

So someone called your name. I would really like to know if you answered. This is a serious question.

I know this sounds ridiculous, but I think it is very rewarding. If this person asks you again, then sit still, close your eyes, and ask the question:
"Who are you?"

Afterwards, try to refrain from having any thoughts and listen into the void. Don't be impatient. Simply don't try to think and keep on listening. Avoid any wishful thinking of possible replies. Be completely open-minded. Don't be disappointed if you get no answer.

You won't regret it.

It's happened to me at least 5-8 times when I was sleeping. It got annoying after a while cause I would keep waking up.

usually when i heard the voice calling my name i thought that it was my mom as well...very strange. my mother is currently alive and well too which kind of adds to the weirdness of my experiences.

I've had it happen two times.
First time it was a womans voice that woke me, i was almost late for work.
Second time it was a deep male voice saying my name very strict but loving. Every time i was between being asleep and awake so it could have been a dream.

I've never thought of replying

Ok did you ever think, it could be someone outside calling your name to someone else?
Or is your name that rare that no one outside, next door, over the back fence, in the street, would be calling your name to someone else?
Sound travels weirdly, you can sometimes almost swear it was next to you but it was 20 feet away.
Ive had this happen to myself many times and just believe it is ambient noise and someone else yelling my name to someone else.
