That really isn't an accurate statement. I don't know any Christians with this attitude. We cannot be saved by good works anyway, we can only be saved through faith and grace.


Titus 3:5-6

he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior,

Galatians 2:16

16know that a man is not justified by observing the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by observing the law, because by observing the law no one will be justified.

Ephesians 2:8

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—


Salvation is a gift from God not something to be earned or given as a reward for good works. We do good works because we are saved, not the other way around.
