The World is Rioting While the USA does nothing

I didnt cry wolf, I really did vote third party. And, I begged on this board for anyone dissatisfied with the system to do the same. No matter which third party, just vote outside the two party farce.

But, we had Obama. And, people want to believe things will be different with him. I would like to believe that also, but I dont. No one THAT beloved by corporate interests can possibly be good for us.

He may want to do good for us, but if corporate America was willing to pump that kind of money into him, they know something we, (and possibly he,) do not.

I cannot do more than let them know they have lost my support by not voting for them, unfortunately. I am not in one of the 18 that can recall. All I can do is keep up the pressure like a chihuahua at their heels and continue to beg my fellow Americans to think outside the two party system. Even if you dont like the third party, just send a message to the entrenched that we are on to the good cop / bad cop game they play with us, and that we dont want to play anymore.

Good luck to all of you who live in those states. I hope you have someone better lined up than the ones you want to toss out. For me thats the most frustrating. In the two party system you are out of luck no matter which way you turn.

Get in an outsider. Scare the heck out of them.

Take your pick of the programs of today. I'd rather avoid a debate as to why I would chose any of them. What I feel would qualify as a hand-out vs. hand-up program may not be shared by anyone else. If you feel that they are all good, fine.

Conservatives say - Lazy liberals did this with their taxes and spending programs.

Liberals say - Bush inherited a good economy, he also had the veto pen, he must be guilty.

If you don't think this will manifest in the street folks you are naive as all hell.

My neighbor had a Chihuahua; annoying little cuss but he sooner or later he got your attention.

I know how you feel because that is about all a lot of us can do but it is still an important role.

A chain is only as strong as its weakest link so somebody has to shore up the weak spots, add new links, encourage and support those can do more.

Most important is that we have to remember what it is that we are fighting for or we will become just like those that we are fighting.

Actually, I have been thinking about it, and thats what I think the biggest problem is with getting people to move. To campaign for change.

Plenty of people are saying what we shouldnt be doing.

But no one is laying out a clear alternative vision.

The reason Obama was so popular is not that he laid out a real thought out plan, he ran on Hope. But hope was better than no plan at all. We that want to see change need to be more proactive about showing people what we could do, and not only complaining about what we dont like.

People dont act until they can visual themselves in the outcome. You have to give them a vision to move towards, not just reasons they should move.

We have states writing Sovereignty legislation, and angry ppl threatening
to lynch the bankster thieves, and ppl organizing civilian militias
in anger over degradation of civil rights.

This is what we know, what we do not know and cannot figure into
equation is most likely travelling the same decline as the economy.

Prepare for martial law, prepare for things to change drastically
in a matter of just a few short days.

Odds are you will have some warning, but once things are locked
down your movement will likely be restricted.

What are you talking about we in America still have our T.Vs., internet, cell phones, food and most of us have shelter so there is no need to protest. Our gas prices are still relatively cheap compared to Europe.

Many in the U.S. are afraid to protest in fear of what will happen to them. The majority of America voted for change and we are fast becoming what we once dreaded, a full blown socialistic nation.

We have approximately 12,000,000 part and full time able bodied workers that have no jobs in the United States Of America today. This 12,000,000 abled bodied workers figure is higher and almost double the millions of individuals recieving unemployment benefits today.

When all these things go away that I have talked about in the first paragraph then the real truth will come out and the question will the people of the Nation finally become We The People or We The Sheeple.

HEHE!! I have no problem honking at people that do crap like this. Just the other day my wife got mad at me cause I honked at an idiot moving into my lane on a off ramp. It was to lanes and it appeared the driver thought they was driving the indy 500. I laid on that horn like it was a new bed and got the most common response you could get from a driver that wasnt paying attention to the road. I got da Bird. I laughed and waved and my wife punched me in the arm and said don't do that, that's not what the horn is for!! I laughed again and said "well honey what is the honr for?" She shrugged and said I dunno making people hurry to the car when your picking them up? haha!!

Its really good to see so many people with common sense here. Im sorry but if I was driving my vehicle and saw a mob of people in the street rioting, looting etc, I believe the brakes on my pick-up would probably fail. Darn Fords. Bowling for looters. Where I live the military wouldnt have to come in. We could handle it. Furthermore, most people I know would have a very serious reaction to anyone trying to harm our community in any way. Most of us agree with alot of the replies Ive seen on this thread. Work hard, raise your family...be happy. To those who want to riot and burn things...bring it, I could use the target practice and stress relief.

I agree with the recall petition, if we could get enough people to get ths ball rolling then we may have a way of really affecting change in our country. I know 1 of my congressmen voted for the bailout and got re-elected back to the office I mean REALLY?

America has been protesting many years now.There would be more occurring if it wasn't censored in the media.I see many post on here calling for Americans to wake up.Because you don't see it on your nightly news doesn't mean it's not happening.My answer to you is,People are awakening up.Many are still asleep,but it's only a matter of time.The term,"A SLEEPING GIANT"comes to mind.

Thats what a lot of Americans are riding on. We have a new president, and everyone is trusting him with a blind eye to heal the world so theyare very passive on the events unfolding right now almost as if it doesnt bother them because the saviour will heal the planet. It is really scary when you think aboutit, it is almost kind of like sort of a "cultism" thing going around. Thats one cult I dont want to be a part of, I dont like trusting my life along with my families lives off of the basis that one man whom I never really trusted since the beginning is going to magically fix everything. I dont drink the kool-aid, Im more of a Dr. Pepper kinda guy.

Ah, the Alaskan wilderness...is any left? Spent 3 field seasons working in the bush, while attending university, in early '70s. No demonstrations/riots. Almost like that stuff hadn't reached there.

Have about 4365 pics of mountains topped with snow/ice. I was asked about the number... I am Arizona bred and reared, had not seen that much snow, and was fascinated. Great times, and wonderful people.

The President is doing the same thing that got us into this mess in the first place. They want to stimulate the economy? The Grand Obama talked about redistributing the wealth, and so far aall I have seen him do is ask Americans to give what not a damn one of us owes them.

We don't have a gulfstream like pelosi or healthcare like anyone of them in the house and senate.

The CEO of Honeywell sent an email to all the project managers and techs saying everyone should support the bailout. The vendors there are Grumman, Lockheed, Alenia Aermacchi Aeronautica. I think why on earth would they do something like that?

My Girlfriend sends out a round robin letter antagonistic to the bail out as the dems first draft was just unacceptable.

She was layed off shortly after that for the second time in 16 years.

Recently I was reading my email and got one of those cutsey funny political satires only it wasn't that funny, in fact it was exactly what I'd expect and was wondering what the punchline is but it reads as follows:

Three contractors are bidding to fix a broken fence at the White House in D.C.; One from Illinois, one from Tennessee, and a third from Kentucky . They all go with a White House official to examine the broken fence.

The Tennessee contractor takes out a tape measure and does some measuring, then works some figures with a pencil.

'Well', he says, 'I figure the job will run about $900
$400 for materials,
$400 for my crew,
and $100 profit for me.'

The Kentucky contractor also does some measuring and figuring, then says,
'I can do this job for $700
$300 for materials,
$300 for my crew,
and $100 profit for me.'

The Illinois contractor doesn't measure or figure, but leans over to the White House official and whispers, '$2,700.'

The official, incredulous, whispers back, 'You didn't even measure like the other guys! How did you come up with such a high figure?'

What is so ironic about this satire on Illinois politics is that it is not a joke but quite typically illustrates the axiom for "Business as usual" and explains why I had guessed what the third Illinois contractors bid was going to be like before I even read it.

Obama, being the product of the Chicago Daley Political Machine, is someone who would identify with my sentiments but is represenative of it, in actions and in deeds. I am certain the Obama public relations website or Factcheck.org would disagree but then again, show me one issue known to be an item worthy of contention about this man, they haven't swept under the rug or claimed to disprove with some of the most tortureously construed alibi's I have ever seen.

Everything I was told I shouldn't worry about or that Obama isn't like that or has changed his ways about but didn't, has happened already so I am expecting Gun owners rights to be one of the trade off items is what the liberals call progressive!

Nominated a tax evader to run the IRS. (after hiring Fannie and Freddie deposed finance manager Franklin Raines for his campaign, what did you expect? someone honest?)

Signed everything handed to him by his staff, asking only a few embarrassing questions in front of the TV cameras ("were we going to sign another executive order for that, or is that in one of these?")

Followed the advice of Fidel Castros attorney. (Hey C'mon! Its OBAMA! we can expect his advisors, to be shady with a radical past history)

laying the groundwork for our transition to communism because at this rate, we are ALL going to be dependant on the Government.

Put a pay freeze on members of Congress! Yeah baby!
( but not until AFTER they voted themselves a hefty $9000 raise), Oh well as long as the symbolism is there but the substance is not, the move was absolutely pointless but like a lot of Obama's stylings, if it sounds cool, it's Obama!

Oh he DID shut down secret overseas CIA prisons which were for the most part, empty anyway but it sounded good. We all love the way Obama sounds don't we.

He signed an executive order to close Gitmo (no clue what he plans to do with the detainees), This many fear will be the biggest mistake he could have made and the first time one of those released, attacks America again, we can all be proud of the change we can all believe in.

Another Obama bill is to start reviewing military war crimes trials and ban the harshest interrogation methods. He signed the order but left an obvious loop hole for CIA to continue doing the very same thing anyway and since they were charged with the implementation of same, in spite of their denials, it seems once again, the change we can all believe in is because we have seen this before and where I come from, it is called

"Business as usual"

Obama's liberal leftist regime in the congress and senate tried pulling a fast one again using his partner in federally funding the slush fund known as ACORN .

Many protectors of the Grand Obama's reputation the image makers, public relations, damage control minions and history revisionists have been blasting away at the "Right wing whacko's" demanding where the mention of acorn is located in the bill.

yet many fail to realize how these bills get written and the slick use of language used that many times goes under the radar.

“Housing Trust Funds” have consistently been utilized by the Dems in Congress and the Senate for “grants” to (primarily) ACORN and other groups such as La Raza to “educate and assist” minorities regarding “home ownership”.

These groups repay this largesse via (often fraudulent) registration of Dem voters.

All I know is if this guy doesn't at LEAST start choosing CIA agents that have at least a secret squirrel decoder ring and showing us some heads rolling when someone adds anything that would only exascerbate this situation to any bill.

As far as I am concerned, the United States Government better back off talking about how selfish we are if we don't want to pay more taxes when Biden paid only what? $3000 The IRS better back off we are owed so many breaks from this Government.

How about a free pass on my next speeding ticket or when my property taxes are due?

Having this much money coerced out of us in what can only be seen as using fear to extort it out of us and for what ? for Who?

No Accountability, just talk

No end in sight, just Hope

No understanding, they just placate us with talk about Americans suffering as if we are supposed to look and say "Gee Thelmalou, that Obannana dude really cares"

The biggest voter turnout to elect someone that would electrify the world stage has one term to do this in and is he doesn't, I say all this divisiveness between Obama supporters and the McCain clan, will now come together in what will surely show up this past elections statistics as another record breaker.

The first time in history not one incumbant gets re-elected as we replace them all with every butcher, baker and candle stick maker. All rookies in a new Washington that knows we have had ENOUGH BEE ESS in such a way that if one of them or their colleagues screw up adding pork barrel bloated bills to the senate again, it means ALL of their Jobs, NOT just the unscrupulous one but EVERYONE OF EM. They would make damn sure they quit playing this "Good ole boy brand of dealing themselves a nice cozy lifestyle with golden parachutes and realize once again for the first time in many years that they WORK for US! and we let em KNOW IT!

and for the first time in history, when we say throw the bums out, they land on their good for nothing butt and that is a lot more than change we can all believe in.

Be careful for what you protest... the outcome of the 1960s is what we are living today.

That era generated the evil that has befallen us.

The suffragettes, racial equality, gender equality, gay rights...

All of these things came about as a result of direct action and protests.

Yes, some of it wasn't a good example, but it worked.

The only way to progress as a nation against those who wish to sidetrack progress for their own beliefs or profit is to increase in number and show a protest.

There is a BIG difference between a protest and a riot.

A protest is a legal and justifiable method of expressing opinion and will.
A riot is an illegal and damaging attack on society perpetrated by itself.

One does not immediately lead to the other.

I am all for mass protests, a show of will, a show of strength and a reminder to those who are supposed to be working for us that they cannot deny our will.
This has gotten results before, and it will again.

As long as there is no needless violence, protesting is your right, and it does work.
