A US couple are hoping to be reunited with their son and daughter who were kidnapped 20 years ago.

According to police, Christi and Bobby Baskin were snatched by their grandparents, Marvin and Sandra Maple, in 1989 when the girl was eight and her brother seven.

Mr Baskin said: "I'm a little bit fearful of what they think about us, because they have been brainwashed for 20 years." His tearful wife added: "It's a blessing to know that they were alive and well."

Remarkable, being united with there parents after 20 years.

Can you imagine what the parents are thinking, and equally the children. A very emotional time for all involved.

I dont understand why the kids never got intouch or indeed looked for there parents. They were taking at an age that they would certainly know there parents.

Brain washing is being described by Mr Baskin for 20 years. This leaves one wondering what kind of brain washing went on, because 20 years is a long time to forget your parents, of which i cant see any other reason for them to do so?

In any case, love and peace goes out to the family in a hope they re-unite with openness and love.

Maybe the kids were told their parents were dead. Or that their parents dumped them because they didn't want them.

I wonder why the grandparents kidnapped them in the first place? Maybe they felt is was the best thing to do even if it was the wrong thing to do.

In any case, I hope it's a great reunion.

This sounds kind of odd even 20 years ago they had custody courts.

Authorities in Tennessee ultimately found no evidence to support those claims, but in March 1989, Christie and Bobby's grandparents allegedly kidnapped them and disappeared.

Wow what a great story reunited after 20 years always makes my day to hear about things like this also it gives hope in present day stories like the Madeline McCann case (which i think she is alive and well)
