Good luck with both the move and the UFO spotting imsteve

Cornwall's a stunning place and as I recall there's actually a Cornish UFO research group: CUFORG.

Yep, here is it: Cornwall UFO Research Group

Perhaps worth a look?

We all agree that this year has seen a huge increase in the launching of these chinese lanterns, so lets look at it seriously. . .
Sightings by month

January: 2
Febuary: 14
March: 7
April: 5
May: 10
Jun: 24
Jul: 37
Aug: 19
Oct: 18
Nov: 11
Dec: 24

Think for a moment. When do these lanterns get launched? At fete's, parties and barbeques. So look at when the sharp increases occur!
June- the height of what we sadly call summer.
July- again in the summer.
Then they die away as Autumn begins and the weather worsens. And then;
December- Christmas party time.

I'm not saying that all UFOs are chinese lanterns what I'm trying to get over is the trend for launching these things could be responsible for UFO sightings doubling.

Very interesting figures - and like you say, they would seem to fit with the expected pattern of Chinese Lantern use.

It would be interesting to establish whether reported sightings for previous years (i.e. years before Lantern use became popular/widespread) demonstrate a similar pattern across the months. If a similar fluctuation isn't evident, IMO it could potentially add weight to the Lantern theory. I might get on to that when I get a quick 15 mins

Star for you Mintwithahole.
