How to conduct an interview

For starters I'm a skeptic, but I do believe there must be other life in the universe. I've never seen an alien or UFO, but will endeavour to keep my eyes peeled.

I know a fella that I've worked with in the past, and I trust him.

He's got a UFO/Alien encounter that involves himself and his family and it's happened on more than one occasion when he was living in an isolated area.
He's told me a bit about it and he's pretty convincing in terms that he believes he's telling the truth and didn't want to tell me at first etc etc

The story wasn't something he instigated, that was from myself coz I have an interest in all the alleged sightings and he told me part of a story and some of which he wouldn't go in to that concerned his family.

If I were to conduct an audio interview with him, what kind of info is useful to ask?

Any other useful advice would be good too.

I'll refuse to identify the individual, even if they want that themselves as I don't want to be responsible for what may happen as a consequence. Even identifying the exact location may be a problem too. I make no apologies for this either.
