In conclusion, The proof of your "thinly cloaked" hate for this nation is obvious in your nonsensical uttering about how it is the President's fault that recruitment is up in Al Queada (assuming it is). I believe , as I am sure you would argue, that our president acted in the best interest of the American people, and to a lesser extent the entire world, by pre-emptively striking Iraq. You, on the other hand, would merely sit back and allow a vicious dictator and supporter of terror to continue his brutal reign. Unlike you, our current president HAS the "Courage of His Convictions"

You and COLON-el are the "Type of People" who would only sit back and criticize decisions that are made in the best interest of our National Security. You "PEOPLE" believe that our government was only created to provide people 'LIKE YOU" with a handout and has no place ensuring our safety if it means not providing "YOU" with "Nationalized Health Care", "Government Subsidized Housing", and "FOOD STAMPS". Wake up and smell the crap that you're shoveling!!! Without a military and a president acting 'PROactively" to secure our safety we would not be able to provide people "LIKE YOU" with your welfare benefits.

I doubt that, these people are on their territory and they will defend it with all the energy they can. And since they are outnumbered by the military, the terrorism way is their only hope of getting revenge for what the US has done to their country. Just imagine that a american group of terrorists (yes, they exist you know) would go attack some country over there and the result would be that those people would come invade america, how would YOU react? And since they don't have the army to do it, they have to use terrorism. So what is the solution? To continue the war until the world population is decimated? I don't think so... It's time for us to leave those countries and to stop to want to control them and their oil. Like someone else one here said, leave them alone and they'll leave us alone...

You see, you cannot give me a reason why "I hate this country." Why is that? Because you cannot come up with a good reason. All you have shown is that it isn't ok for me to question and point blame at the administration for recruitment numbers. It's a fact of life that after anyone has been attacked, most people will be more and more ready to fight their attackers. Look at the spike in military numbers after 9-11. In some sense, Al Qaeda is a group that is sort of like the military for certain areas of the Middle East. Who do you join ranks with when you are tired of seing your people attacked? You see where this is going...don't you? All I was doing was offering up more plausible reasons for Al Qaeda's rise in their recruitment. Or at least more plausible than people like me and Colonel being the cause of it. However, please give me a damned good reason why I hate my country...I would love to know...

oxmank...If you lack the cognitive ability to understand the things that I write, then you should leave "well enough" alone. Suffice it to say that your demeanor and tone of comments does nothing more than precipitate "HATE". Be that for your country or for your fellow man. I have no problem with people who question our Government, I encourage it!!! Each side of the spectrum serves to keep the opposite side in check.

You wouldn't know a hater if you looked in the mirror. But good effort to try make me look like an asshole...didn't succeed...because I do love my country. And I don't prove it by the phony jingoism that has swept the country since 9-11. Anyhow...

The point of debate is whether recuruitment is up in al quaeda and for what reason. I disagree with COLON-el's reason.
I believe recruitment is up because of HATERS like you and COLON-el precipitating HATE! My good man, that was not so much a personal attack as it was an observation!

If I was being hunted down by the most powerful nation in the world, watching my friends being arrested and shot, I'd want my enemy to use "wisdom" instead of force, too

Ahh, my friend, I've known several people who did not agree with my ideology, were more liberal (voted for Clinton), who hated the "'n-word's, spics, and jews". Racism knows no party lines. I hope one day you can see that.
