Cormons and "The Nine"

A few days ago a teacher of mine mentioned a "cormon" and a group called "The Nine". Neither I or the friend I was with at the time know who or what a cormon is or who "the Nine" are. But my friend did say that she thinks that it has something to do with the paranormal, so I am turning to you, my trusty internet friends!



What is a cormon and who are "The Nine"?

Any books or websites on the topic would be appreciated.

This has to do with Irish (and perhaps greater British) mythology. I'm not clear on the details, but "Cormon" rang a bell for me. My family's ancestry is traced heavily to Ireland, and I remember my grandmother calling us (the granddaughters) "little Morrigans" whenever we were running about causing havoc. Morrigan is apparently a goddess of war in Irish mythology, though I don't know much about her. She is included in stories about the Nine and Cormon. It is apparently a scenario repeated in a few fantasy books.
