Falling before sleep

I had a pretty vivid 'falling' before sleep last night. I was laying on my back (usually i sleep on right side) and not totally sleeping i guess... I visualized (for some reason) that i was walking by a rocky creek looking for something in the water... then i slipped on a mossy rock and jumped and woke right up! The feeling of actually slipping was 100% there... more intense than usual! Oh well.. just wanted to add that.

What happens to me is not dreaming that I'm falling but waking up suddenly and for that split second where I'm waking up I feel like I'm landing in bed. I don't dream a fall or feel like falling, I just wake up and feel like I'm landing from a fall from no more than a few centimeters. Scares the hell outa me every time it happens. Always happends when I just got into bed and I'm trying to go to sleep. Freaky stuff.

I have had the same thing happen to me many times. There have been a few times where I have been dreaming and soundly am falling toward the ground, only to wake right before I hit the ground but I feel my body "drop" onto my bed.

has anyone ever been in a state of deep concentration then something breaks into ur mind and you flinch, it usually happens when i'm doing HW and then someone just comes into me thoughts and takes a swing at me and i flinch as though i was hit, but it wsd all in my mind
