Iran's government spokesman on Tuesday branded the Holocaust a "big lie" created to place the Islamic republic's arch-foe Israel in the Middle East, the state IRNA news agency reported.
"The Holocaust is a concept coming from a big lie in order to settle a rootless regime in the heart of the Islamic world," Gholam Hossein Elham told a conference on Gaza in central Iran's religious city of Qom.

It was not the first time an Iranian official has questioned the massacre of Jews by Nazis in WWII

I've actually read members on these forums in the masses claiming support and adoration for Iran, Iran's president, Iran's government. Do you realise who you are praising? You are praising a government so corrupt, they actually are justifying themselves for hating the Jews by claiming the holocaust never happened. These are nazi-esque people through and through, and your alignment with them is your way of saying how anti-zionist you are, well you're also making yourself look pro-nazi.

Although I don't want to be flamebait, I can't help but notice some zionistic/masonic tactics in your writings, razimus.

Iran's president is among the very few presidents who has the balls to say things the way they are and act accordingly. And many people don't like that. They want Iran assimilated. He has no interest in nuking Israel, I'll tell you that.

Muslims in the M.E. don't sit around all day thinking "how am I gonna kill more Jews / Christians?". They go about their daily lives like we all do... UNLESS PROVOKED. I've met many muslims and I got this impression from all of them. And the US/Israel have provoked them more than plenty.

But jews / israelis / zionists (ok, one group or the other, pick your favourite - I have mine) have been infiltrating our governments, have been "tweaking" the financial system(s) to their plans and have been putting forward a specific agenda. I think that much is clear to most ATSers.

Is Israel with its heavy-handed tactics better? Are they better when they have direct control of the US government, which they are using to their sole advantage? Many people are aware of Israels heavy handed-ness and the Jews' sneaky tactics behind their ever-present pleasantries, and we don't quite appreciate it.

Just some thoughts...

When I was younger, I met people who were in the concentration camps and still had the tattoos to prove it.

So, they were there and that was proof enough for me.

Find a survivor of the holocaust and talk to them.

Strange how it isn't the Germans claiming that, isn't it?

Any unbiased person with at least a high school education knows that the holocaust did in fact happen. The only thing that remains disputed is the exact number of deaths from each ethnic group.

I find it interesting that you call these "people" Nazi-esque...do some historical research and do not follow the crap taught to you at schools.

Read up on Operation Paperclip....when the US brought over from Germany a whole lot of Nazi scientists and benefitted by using their knowledge for their military and space programs.....

This could be more generated propaganda or intentionally incorrect translation designed to bolster support for military actions on Iran.

I cannot find any major coverage on this quote other than the one article which was published by the European Jewish Press and is written by AFP which is a French news agency run by the French government.


Remember that mistranslated quote that went something like "Israel will be wiped off the face of the planet" and it really was "Israel will disappear from the pages of time." subtle difference but it becomes less of a menacing threat.

In Germany, it is illegal to speak ill of the dead. So saying anything about the holocaust means you are speaking ill of some dead.

Couple that with the complete embarrassment of the incident in the first place.



Also, can someone please actually translate the exact phrase that was used for this article because a lot can be lost in translation.. especially with bias journalism.
