Black squares are letters used.

i133.photobucket.com...

Is it Francois Gerard, Portrait of Madame Recamier?

Okay everyone can guess as many times as they like from this point forward as long as it's based on logic or something seen in the puzzle.

Ok this is my last guess then I am catering to my migraine and blurry vision.

This one fits perfectly, too:

i133.photobucket.com...

Claude Monet, Parasol.

I concede after that. If this helps anyone, the letters I could not find in the image clue are:

BQXY

So you can immediately eliminate any paintings that contain those letters. That image is hard for me to see so if I messed up, somebody let me know and I will update this post. I don't want to throw anyone off.

Hint added to the opening post.

It's going to be a mixture of front to back, left to right, up to down, down to up and diagonally.

I scanned through the thread and it looks like you offered two hints to that one previously. However, I have not been keeping up with the thread until the last puzzle. Can you repost them for us newbies? Or is that a no-no?

I went through the thread and removed all references to the hints.

I doubt anyone will remember. hehe

My suggestion is that everyone work together on this because it's challenging. We could work out the points thing in the end if everyone collaborates.

OK, thank you. That wasn't remotely evil or anything.

Back to work.
