Anti-war MP George Galloway has warned the government of trouble if plans for a mass rally in London are blocked.
The Labour MP said Culture Secretary Tessa Jowell had told Stop the War Coalition that protesters could march through the capital on 15 February but would be banned from gathering in Hyde Park afterwards for a rally.

Don't stay at home and complain.Make yourself seen.

Its an arse, I was supposed to be going on this but I'll be in Barcelona.

on the topic however, as far as I can tell, widely publicised mass gatherings of people in a single place are being prohibited all over Britain at the moment, Both Edinburgh and Trafalgar square were off limits New years eve.

I personally doubt another large scale terrorist attack in the UK or in the US for the time being (mainly, it has to be said, due to the efforts of our respective governments to assure us that its only a question of time, reeks of trying to perpetuate the hype in the run up to the war) But I suspect the reasoning behind the ban is alomost certainly linked to the government not wanting to provide an easy target.

Do you think the terrorists would bomb an anti-war rally? I'd never had them down as favouring the ironic target.

I go to uni just down a minute away from Hyde Park, and trust that I will be rioting with the best of em if it hits off.

They have been taking far too many liberties with us recently, sneaking in tuition fees too. I'm sure Imperial College students will be up for soing some social discontent.

Oh and HELLO EVERYONE!!!!

I'M BACK BABY!

Chief executive William Weston said park use was barred at this time of the year due to concern for public safety and for the damage that could be caused to the grass.

Banning a Rally!!! sorry, are we now living in a police state??what ever excuses they make on this one its just not going to stand. This is a gross abuse of rights, those excuses just seem pretty lame.
