True, the first thing they tell you at gun permit classes in Florida is that you are most likely to shoot yourself or be subdued and shot with your own gun than you are to shoot a perpetrator. From experience, being held up is nothing like it is in the movies, you panic. It happened once when I was working in a grocery store and I couldn't even remember the number for 911.

I wonder how long it will take before some of these soldiers are accused of rape, murder, abuse, stealing, etc. etc. ?

Be interesting to see how it all works out.

You just need more training. I've been attacked with weapons and outnumbered and panicking just didn't occur to me.

I once had an ex-husband determined to kill me. Came at me with an ax. I locked myself in the bedroom and he started hacking at the door. I calmly got my .22, sat on the bed and waited.

He was 6'4 and bug nuts crazy. Once he managed to get through the door I pointed the gun at him, steady with both hands, looking through my front sites. He immediately backed down, stepped back through the door, dropped the ax and began to whine and plead about how "mean I was to him".

To tell the truth, I don't even remember if the .22 was loaded but it sure made a good deterrent.

I don't live my life in fear and I won't die trembling or cowering in fear. Does take training though.

As far as calling 911...I wouldn't bother. At least in Oklahoma you can be getting hacked to pieces but if you scream the cops here will arrest you for disturbing the peace.

This article appears to have left out the single most important fact, and the one that most of Italy is talking about (but not the PC news outlets).

The Italians know that the vast majority of these violent sex crimes are being committed by illegal immigrants from North Africa, with much of the increase in theft being attributed to Romanian gypsies.

I know it sounds cliched and racist, but it is what it is, and the Italians are evidently on the verge of a very violent reaction against these groups.

that is ridicoulous this should never happen in a western country. the only thing to do is to bring back the death penalty in the EU and put even people commiting GBH to death as why should innocent people suffer all throughout europe especially the UK law breakers have been let off and the governments dont do out. I say bring back the death penalty and hang everyone who commits murder, rape and any other violent crime as the only other thing to do is impose martial law which is unaceptable or else the people will blame the government and the people they think cause it even if its a few of them and therefore the rest will be punished for being that colour or from that country.

Absolute genius post.

Good on ya! It's all about acclimating yourself to the possibilities.

All these posts about getting your gun taken away and used against you are disinfo. At least with a weapon you have a fighting chance. If you’re going to get ‘blanked’ would you rather have some ability to defend yourself, or none? And as sw pointed out, your ability to defend yourself is all about training.

Good catch!

First you send out your berserker storm troopers to have a little fun with the ladies, and then you use this as the very excuse to put soldiers on the streets. The preparations are under way, the end game is afoot.

I too see the handwriting on the wall and it does not start or stop here. In Miami they had a group of young boys shoot up innocent people on the street with automatic weapons.

Where would a group of young boys get access or enough money to buy automatic weapons?

Now they are making a big deal about the criminals out powering the police and making plans to arm the police with heavier artillery and of course they will need military support.

Do they really think that we are that stupid? Anybody can see exactly what they are doing. We are going to wake up tomorrow to find jack boots in our streets. They plan to outlaw our weapons, strip then from us and line us up for internment.

One small step for criminals, one giant leap for the New World Order.

Berlusconi said the rapes "can't be blamed on poor security" and said "there has been a drop in all major street crimes".

"Can't be blamed on poor security", but a good enough reason to put a hell of a lot of troops on the streets.

Think about it...

Considering most statistics about Italy are put out by those who control travel and tourism you're right not to trust statistics.

People who think Italy and Sicily are regions in the world with low crime(s) are obviously reading out of the same tourist bulletins I was just speaking of.

Take it from someone who lives here.

Is it safe to walk the streets? Is crime on the streets low? Not by a long shot.

The daily newscasts are riddled with bloody murders, crimes against citizens and tourist by Mare-eh-kee-noes (phonetic spelling for illegal African immigrants) and Romani, Natives putting their hands to vendetta killings, robberies of the small and big sort, kidnappings (a favorite), con jobs in the private home (another favorite), and crimes against the elderly.
And, it’s most definitely all on the rise (due to financial difficulties here).

In some regions completely tourist reliant it's a bit safer - Can't bite the hand that feeds you so to speak, but, for the most part don't trust the falsified reports the Island or the Mainland are paradise(s) of jovial brotherly love, organ grinders and safe places to wander about in stupefied wonder-bliss.

Also remember - the majority of crimes here are not reported to the authorities.
If it can't be helped, (some crime witnessed on the street like a drive by killing) then the authorities by course are involved.
If it happens on your street (private) or the home, or outside a tourist area - I'd guess at least half of crimes are not reported - at least to the official authorities.

What you read/see on International news or gleam from a Google search (lol) is nothing but a *Puppet Opera*...

peace

Uhmmm the Rape of the Sabine women not withstanding?

The recent rapes/murders perpetrated by illegal immigrants have freaked out the populace. Apparently they don't take violent brutal attacks against defenseless women in stride like most of the rest of the world does.

Seems like the chickens have come home to roost for Rome...
