I'm beginning to feel a little uneasy about some of the deep emotion being displayed in the media by some Obama supporters - sometimes it looks awfully like religious fervour.

What do you think, and what do you speculate could be the dangers of enough of the population seeing him as some kind of Messiah?

Sorry, at first I thought your title said "The Defication Of Obama"......I was wondering why anyone cares about his B.M.'S.

Seriously though, I agree. it is a little concerning hearing people speak of him as though he is jesus incarnate.....

Simply put -
This kind of popularity can be dangerous if the intention of the popular one is not stellar.

I wouldn't worry too much. I think that there are a large enough number of people who demonize him that they won't repeal the 'two terms' limit.

What gets me is the pictures the media take of Obama with that FAUX HALO around his head. Pretty comical.

The Obama-God just killed three children by dropping bombs on their houses. Geee .. only two days after the Inauguration parties and he's looking a lot like George Bush (who thought he talked to God).

Times Online - London

Security officials said the strikes, which saw up to five missiles slam into houses in separate villages, killed seven "foreigners" - a term that usually means al-Qaeda - but locals also said that three children lost their lives.

I hate it for the Obamatrons out their he is going to keep up with the “war on terror”, don’t you remember his inauguration speech.

And for those who seek to advance their aims by inducing terror and slaughtering innocents, we say to you now that, "Our spirit is stronger and cannot be broken. You cannot outlast us, and we will defeat you."

What we have is more of the same, just wrapped up and worded different.

I think people just need hope right now. Not that he is superman, they are just hoping that he can make things better for everybody.
People love their public figures, baseball players, football players, etc. Not a bad thing for someone to look up too.

Should people be reserved until the real work starts? sure.

But hope even for a little while is still better then none at all.

Is deifying him a chance to kill him? lol. The second coming will wash the waves of blood of the man described as 6.6.6. (which if you know your numerology = George.W.Bush.) Neither will be assasinated, Obama is just getting a lot of basic work done quickly, as Machiavelli (a white man) would have ordered. lol.

Well he hasn't walked on water but he sure did crawl out of a cesspool in Chicago...

Back to the topic... I did hear one person say that listening to Obama was like listening to God. Yep, he is the chosen one and people will drink the Jim Jones Kool-Aid he is serving up... I think its laughable that people actually think this guy is going to take care of them.

Will there be inner city riots when he the chosen one fails? Will white America be to blame? What say you drive by media?

Edit to add:
Here is an Obama freak before the chosen one was elected....Obama freak

Do not let yourself be decieved. This man with the benevolent smile, and the beautiful family, I am sure can be ruthless if need be. Don't be surpriesed when some particularly bloodthirsty move, (literally or figuratively) is made.

The only people or entities I have personally heard talking about Obama as some sort of Messiah or Chosen One are the people that fear and hate him.

I know a lot of people who support Obama, and not one of them thinks he's anything but a man, and all of them, to a person, are skeptical he can fully succeed, given what he's been handed. And all of them fully expect to disagree with him on more than one issue.

Get yur hand off it.

Well that is the basic corrupt Catholic way, set up two extremes.

1. He is too good.

2. He is too evil.

then,

3. He is evil for trying to look too good, or

4. He is too humble by downplaying.

All lead to murder and it looks like the KKK has done a deal with the Papists who want fear, rape and the old Roman Emperor Constantine and Justinian and dark ways back. Conjugale rights to the rich mate.

I suppose it boils down to impression. The stronger you make it, the more it hits into the paranoid-schizophrenic as identified by Jung. Big impression = big worry,

so,

all good, or all evil.

Just keep talking him up Tezemazzia, and he'll take one of the two, or maybe, with luck, he'll kill you. You'vfe set up the condoms committee now......

He is no Messiah. In fact if you go back to a few of his speech's you will hear him say he wasnt born in a manger like so many think he was. So yes his followers do believe him to be one. Just goes to prove point. Sheep follow there leader anywheres.

On the other hand I dont believe any one should believe him to be one, until he can prove he can part the waters. Can move the statue of Liberty just by raising his hand, and can change a stick into a snake. Also in case if you didnt notice when he was sworn in the same day they had a Minister state he was the greatest man since Moses. Such a bunch of Bull crap. If he is the Messiah then my son is half dog and half goat.

You sure like to use the BOLD keys .. just like your wife, BH.
Wonder why that is.

IF it's true and you haven't heard any of the messianic language about Obama, then you seriously need to come down off that mountain top and get out more.

Obama and his disciples have used messianic and religious language all through his election process. It's undeniable.

From Obama himself - "a light will shine through that window, a beam of light will come down upon you, you will experience an epiphany ... and you will suddenly realize that you must go to the polls and vote for Obama" - Barack Obama Lebanon, New Hampshire. January 7, 2008.

From Obama himself - 'my hour has not yet arrived.' (right out of the bible)

More self-messianic language from Obama himself - "This was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal."

"I'll do whatever he says to do. I'll collect paper cups off the ground to make his pathway clear." - Halle Barry. (definately messianic and biblical)

"A quantum leap in American consciousness" - Deepak Chopra, Huffington Post

"Barack Obama is our collective representation of our purest hopes, our highest visions and our deepest knowings . . . He's our product out of the all-knowing quantum field of intelligence." Eve Konstantine, Huffington Post

"Obama's finest speeches do not excite. They do not inform. They don't even really inspire. They elevate. . . . He is not the Word made flesh, but the triumph of word over flesh . . . Obama is, at his best, able to call us back to our highest selves." Ezra Klein, The American Prospect

"Obama has the capacity to summon heroic forces from the spiritual depths of ordinary citizens and to unleash therefrom a symphonic chorus of unique creative acts whose common purpose is to tame the soul and alleviate the great challenges facing mankind." Gerald Campbell, December 2007

“I would characterize the Senate race as being a race where Obama was, let’s say, blessed and highly favored. That’s not routine. There’s something else going on. I think that Obama, his election to the Senate, was divinely ordered. . . . I know that that was God’s plan." - Janny Scott - New York Times

“What Barack Obama has accomplished is the single most extraordinary event that has occurred in the 232 years of the nation’s political history. ... The event itself is so extraordinary that another chapter could be added to the Bible to chronicle its significance.”
- Jesse Jackson Jr. Politico June 5, 2008.

"Does it not feel as if some special hand is guiding Obama on his journey, I mean, as he has said, the utter improbability of it all?" "So let us hope the Gods are on our side and our Hero will prevail" - Daily KOs - April 26, 2008

"He communicates God-like energy... in whom you can feel God" Steve Davis - Journal Gazette, Charleston

"Not just an ordinary human being but indeed an Advanced Soul"
Chicago Sun Times

From Oprah Winfrey - "For the very first time in my life, I feel compelled to stand up and to speak out for the man who I believe has a new vision for America, . . . I am here to tell you, Iowa, he is the one. He is the one!"

"We're all here to come together – to appreciate our uniqueness and to treasure our diversity, and we're here to evolve to a higher plane . . . The reason I love Barack Obama is because he is an evolved leader who can bring evolved leadership to our country. . . .

. . . When you listen to Barack Obama, when you really hear him, you witness a very rare thing. You witness a politician who has an ear for eloquence and a tongue dipped in the unvarnished truth..."

""No one saw him coming, and Christians believe God comes at us from strange angles and places we don't expect, like Jesus being born in a manger." - Lawrence Carter, Dean of MLKjr International Chapel.

"Many even see in Obama a messiah-like figure, a great soul, and some affectionately call him Mahatma Obama." - Dinesh Sharma, Marketing Science Consultant (PHD- Harvard)

"We just like to say his name. We are considering taking it as a mantra." (p218)
- From the David Mendells Book - Obama, From Promise to Power

"At one point, I thought Barack was going to rise up over the people and start saying, 'My children, my children, I have come to free you,' joked his driver and bodyguard, Mike Signator. "It was just incredible." [p. 297]
- From the David Mendells Book - Obama, From Promise to Power

"A Lightworker -- An Attuned Being with Powerful Luminosity and High-Vibration Integrity who will actually help usher in a New Way of Being"
- Mark Morford San Francisco Chronicle June 6, 2008

Creepy Fictional Book

Even God himself talks to Barry while he's in church on Sunday, telling him: "Look around you. Now look to me. There is hope enough here to last a lifetime."

"You are the instruments that God is gonna use to bring about
universal change, and that is why Barack has captured the youth. And
he has involved young people in a political process that they didn’t
care anything about. That’s a sign. When the Messiah speaks, the
youth will hear, and the Messiah is absolutely speaking."
