Hmm anyone who knows me here on ATS knows I am no fan of Obama and not even close. I dont think he provides the true change we need to get back on track. With that said I dont WANT him to fail. I want him to succeed. If he succeeds we all succeed right? I mean Limbaugh has millions of dollars and has a house in Palm Beach. Obama failing wont affect him as much for he already has a fortune. But the working class who are struggling it will affect them. Now I must say the context he says it in sounds like he is saying I hope he fails bringing in big government Im not sure which if it is in that context I dont know if I disagree with Rush...what say you?

He said that he hoped Obama's policies failed because he felt they were bad for America.

Rush was saying that where Obama wants to increase governmental intervention and regulation, then that he will fail.

If Obama wants to embrace capitalist principles which would pull the economy out of the slump quickly, then Rush would support those efforts.

Rush repeated this again today..... paraphrasing...." IF Obama brings socialist policys, he hopes they/he fails"

Rush only wants Obama to fail because he is a right winger and he is opposed to Obama ideologically. He doesn't want Obama to win because he wants the right wing ideology to reign supreme over the left.

I feel much the way you do about Obama. However Limbaugh is one of those guys that really make me sick. This guy has taken the cake beyond Bill O. (Papa Bear). And that is saying alot!

However I think it pretty much covers Limbaugh and his charater pretty well if I might say so.

I really don't care what that sack of crap has to say.. And I have never even made an effort on ATS to show my dislike for the guy.
Heck.. I give Bill O, Patrobertson a little more credit than this guy..

I think Limbaugh is a worthless scum. BUT he was saying that he hopes Obama failed because he disagrees with what he thinks Obama's policies are. He's wrong (Obama doesn't want the US government to absorb as much of the private sector as possible and have the government in charge of the banks, the mortgage industry and the auto industry) but Rush doesn't want the country to fail, he wants Obama to be unsuccessful at what he THINKS Obama wants to do...

Rush is delusional. But he doesn't want the country to fail.

I'm not a Obama fanatic but I wish him no harm or failure. That being said... I would like to RAM a cattle prod where the sun don't shine in Mr. Limbaugh.

Every time his name is mentioned following his very predictable controversial "talk" he gets exactly what he is hoping for, higher ratings!

You all are playing his game, he is winning, and laughing at all of you all the way to the bank.

You guys criticizing Limbaugh's comments, regardless of how you interpret them, are only making Limbaugh more famous and richer. This just gives people an incentive to listen in to Limbaugh's show to see what the whole hoopla is about. That increases his ratings. IMO it is just a Hollywood type stunt to garner attention.

What? The 'messiah' fail? Never! Anyway, it's too premature to say that any president would fail miserably. Surely, there has been at least one president that made EVERYONE happy, right?

Rush is a genius in knowing just the right buttons to push to keep the rightwing's attention. I listen to Rush almost everyday but his crybaby whining about the opposition gets old after about 5min. Also his constant blowing of his own horn "talent on loan from GOOOODDD" just makes him look stupid. I used to find him entertaining, but it's the constant whining that forces me to put on a Skynard CD. I think Rush is back on the Oxy.

Seeing as the Liberal media (New York Times, MoveOn, Huffington Post, and so on, and so on) for the past 8 years did everything they could muster, from publishing classified federal information to fabricating stories with no factual basis, to damage the Bush administration. Now the same Liberal media is crying because a Conservative personality is doing the same to their regime. I say fair's fair. It's time for them to get a taste of what they've done the past 8 years. I'm personally not wishing for the Obama administration to fail, but I'll definitely be placing everything they do under a magnifying glass, and amplify anything they do I see that might hurt them. As I said, fair's fair, right?

For what reason would you wish harm to Rush Limbaugh? You would never ever say something like that about a setting President would you?

Rush is against corruption, socialism and communism he loves this Great Nation and wants to see capitalism thrive. He does not want government take over of the Nations banks, businesses and industry he wants free interprise to rein in this country. Our country was founded on free enterpise the pilgims found out real quick socialism did not work and switched to free enterpise.

Do I agree with everything Rush says absolutely not, but I do believe that the government has been the cause of the banking and housing crisis. It was the job of Bush's administration and Barney Frank's on the democrat side for the last 2 years to make sure check and balances were in place to prevent what just happened. It was on their watch when this happened even though these low interest and EZ loans were first implemented and introduced back during the Carter and Clinton administrations.

No one wants to take responsibility for poor oversight only to point fingers at the other guy. Some individuals have had their pockets lined when it comes to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, but do you see any of them on the carpet. Maybe a scolding of sorts but the losers like most of the time, We the People Of The United States OF America.

Push those loans through for the lower income individuals that could not normally qualify, the government says and watch them default when times become difficult in our economy. Trickle up and trickle down now all income levels are being effected in record foreclosure numbers and realestate has plumbited in value across the land. The domino effect has now started where it stops nobody knows at this time only speculation.

There is no quick fix because the Bush administration just spent 11.9 trillion dollars in the last 8 yrs. that we have been told so where is that money going to come from to pay it back that we did not have in the first place to spend and hand out. I know the Social Security fund like always and I almost forgot lets go after 401K and private retirement funds and tax them for revenue also.

Remember what I say one of the largest sources of untaxed sells is the internet across this country. Look for the government to start taxing sells on the internet because desperate times means deperate measures to raise revenue for a country that is broke.

We now have a new President and lets hope and pray Obama gets it right because if he gets it wrong in the next 90 days. The honey moon is over and we as a Nation are in for a rough row to hoe.

I don't know how anyone can listen to this man and take him seriously. He wants Obama's policies to fail because he doesn't want to to be hit with higher taxes. The man is a prat.

I have since grown up.
I am educated now.

Rush knows how to make a buck. He knows how to keep himself in the limelight in order to continue to make a buck. He also believes what he says.

He doesn't want America to fail. He want's what he thinks is best for America and that is, as far as he is concerned, for Obama's policies to fail.

I also want what is best for America and I also want some of Obama's policies to fail.
