President Obama retakes the Oath but WITHOUT a BIBLE!!!!

President Obama had to retake his oath of office after a single word was mispoken during his swearing in ceremony. This time he got the words right but did NOT have a Bible!!!

So? I would take that as a good sign. Swearing on a bible is getting kind of 'old'. Would be nice if he'd change that as well.

Good. Maybe it will start a trend. Even the bible says that you shouldn't swear to God .. or upon His Word for that matter.

Why is that a problem and what difference does it make? The bible was written by man, not god.

edit to add. Look what happened with bush, and he swore on the bible, no? and swearing, not allowed on this site, is it

...the only reason they did the do over, was so we here at ATS wouldn't have to read thread after thread about how Obama wasn't officially our President because....blah, blah. It was a CYA. No Bible required....consider it a renewel of your wedding vows or something like that.

I don't trust the guy, but at least have a little validity before you attack...

He doesn't need to use a Bible, Any law that would require him to would be a breach of the 1st Amendment.

Disagree or not, this is a bad sign to many Americans. Taking the oath over without the Bible is like swearing on ones own moral compass....which for most politicians is usually pointing South!
