n a later lecture, the chief, who was a Chicago policeman prior to entering academia, said sometimes excessive and violent force against a suspect is a "reality of law enforcement."

"If there's a news conference going on, I can't get in front of a crowd and say. 'He got exactly what the f*** he deserved.' You know the police should have beat him, you know. I used to beat ass when I was in Chicago, too. I can't say that."

I am honestly appalled by this entire article, but what saddens me even more is the knowledge that people like this creep outnumber the "good" cops at least 10/1 these days.

Although the story is from the states, i assure you that things are just as bad north of the border in Canada. We just live in a climate of "Happy Censorship" where this would never show up in the media.

This kinda crap is an epidemic. The police in every corner of the US think they are above the law, and it sickens me. Shooting people in the back, racial profiling, fraud in finance and evidence, continued violations of the constitution. It is ridiculous that we allow these morons to patrol our streets and allow them to tell us where the true danger lies.

I submit to you, the the true danger is an unquestioned police force.

Maybe i should change the headline to his comment
