American Jewish Professor Norman Finkelstein has heavily criticized Israel over its operation in Gaza. A son of Holocaust survivors, Finkelstein has been barred from Israel for 10 years and was denied tenure at DePaul University in Chicago because of his critical stance on Israeli policies.

This is a great interview and Finkelstein pulls no punches. His long-time stance on Israeli policy has come at a great personal cost to him and still he refuses to bow. The denial of tenure at De Paul due to the lobbying of Alan Dershowitz after Finkelstein destroyed his book The Case For Israel. Being barred from entering the Israeli State for ten years due to "supposed" links to factions unfriendly to Israel. And probably worst of all, the horrendous tag of "anti-semite," given to a man who is the son of two Holocaust survivors.

What does Israel want to achieve with this operation?

Basically, Israel wants to achieve two goals: to restore what it calls its deterrence capacity -- that means to spread fear among Arab states about itself. This is a core principle of Israeli strategic doctrine. Arab states have to be afraid of Israel, afraid of its military might, and Arabs should do what Israelis want. They shall follow Israeli orders.

It is a great series of videos that cover that forum. The Dersh v. Fink videos are excellent as well.

People who blindly follow the pro-Israel propaganda really need to read Finkelsteins work as well as watch the many video's on YouTube and Google.

After the usual pro-Israel rhetoric, people like Blitzer have nothing, and then Finkelstein shoots them down every time. Using accurate data.
