More peanut butter products recalled

www.msnbc.msn.com

WASHINGTON - Now it's some Little Debbie peanut butter crackers that are being recalled because there's a chance of salmonella contamination. That's the word Sunday from McKee Foods Corp. of Collegedale, Tenn.

The voluntary recall covers all sizes of two kinds of sandwich crackers — Little Debbie peanut butter toasty crackers and Little Debbie peanut butter cheese crackers.

The company says no other Little Debbie products are involved in the recall. McKee says it acted because the crackers have the potential to be contaminated.

Okay so I guess I have the simplest question possible.

Long time ago we never had such problems, so why do we have them now?

This is my main question and comment about this article?

Why Can't I have a laconic post?
I must always add fillers?

ok back to topic
wowww.... still not enough characters?

Well that does sound quite serious....

Jan. 17, 2009 -- The FDA and CDC are recommending that consumers not eat products containing peanut butter (such as cookies, crackers, cereal, candy, and ice cream) until information becomes available about whether those products are linked to an ongoing salmonella outbreak that may have contributed to six deaths. At least 474 people in 43 states have been sickened by the outbreak strain of Salmonella typhimurium.

SOURCE

This is the FDA Salmonella Typhimurium Outbreak site that tells you the updates, list of recalled products and information on salmonella etc

Easy.
Centralization of processed food production.

There is absolutely no reason that peanuts should be contaminated with any type of salmonella. Real peanut butter is ground up peanuts. That's it. Nothing else. The machines used to grind it should be clean before starting.

We live in a world where all processed foods are adulterated with chemical ingredients for whatever reason and food processing plants use the same equipment to package different types of food.

In a world where people used to rely on their local butcher if there was some kind of outbreak it stayed local and the butcher was put out of business or brought up on charges. Now with large centralized food "producers" a tainted hamburger results in a recall of ground beef from dozens of states, different food retail chains and covers several brands (proving it's all the same crap).

This kind of thing will stop when people stop relying on corporations to feed them.

Okay for the most part I'm safe being that I'm allergic to the stuff, but how is salmonella getting into all of these products? Even if their isn't/wasn't a recall on the other stuff, I personally wouldn't touch a few of their other products just to be on the safe side of things...

Sometimes a little oil is neccessary depending on the natural oil content of the nuts.

I've broken a blender before because the "mix" was too dry and thick.....blenders beware!

Make your own folks, I do.

this happens sooo much more than you guys realize.
i work in a food distribution warehouse and part of my job is to process recalled items. (its not us who taints the products we simply take them back and return them to the manufacterer for credit)
i get weekly emails about products we have to pull from distribution.. its a joke.

nothing is safe these days.. e.coli outbreak in meat.. so become vegetarian? nope dont forget the spinach recall. go to canned foods? nope tons of recalls on that, from e.coli, to salmonella, to metal and foreign objects in the food.

Someone needs to start a conspiracy thread about how this could be terrorism. It could also be an attempt to see just how much mayhem this could causen a grander scale.

Watch all those suspicious workers in food processing plants, their allegiance may lean towards the radical, and they wouldn't think twice about poisoning our food in mass quantities.

I'm going on the second day of suffering from eating at Taco Bell aka taco hell. Either the meat or the hot sauce I'm guessing.

Let's be aware of this kind of terrorism and watch your neighbor closely, especially at food processing centers.

I've often wondered if the "Elite" have a list of "do" and "don't" foods that their servants must adhere to. If this was a conspiracy then "they" would have the knowledge. Something like the Queen's "by appointment to Her Majesty" etc on some of the food labels.

Any people work in the "personal service" industry?

You know, the same thought occurred to me, and led me to think the food conspiracy can't possibly be flatly malignant. I think profiteering and commercialism may be to blame, not necessarily that we are being targeted for 'culling from the herd.' These people eat the same food no, drink the same water, and do they not sun themselves under the same skies as we do? Unless of course, they don't - in which case we should worry that there is more to this than simple 'accidents' and 'sloppy industrial practices, or lax enforcement of quality control.

To semperfortis the MOD

You edited my headline thinking it wasn't the same as the news headline on MSNBC

Your right it's not the same headline...........anymore!

But when I made the thread I swear to god it was a copy and Paste saying FDA in the headline.

can someone give any proof from cache servers?

Only thing I found so far was
www.witn.com...

anabolicminds.com...

www.early-retirement.org...

www.alipac.us...

okay check this one
www.dailyheadlines.org...

As you are somewhat able to see MSNBC changed the headline
I did a DIRECT copy and paste from MSNBC's headline

We gotta be more careful about these things man
Articles get edited nowadays

I remember making a thread a while ago about MSNBC taking out an article about FEMA giving poisoned trailer parks to katrina victims.

WHAT IF.....

What if the tests done on these products were "faked" to produce fear and worry for people.

Ultimately...how would most people survive if they were afraid of eating or drinking just about everything!

Interesting how a lot of these tests are concluded by government sources.

From link in previous post above:

The federal Food and Drug Administration also is analyzing samples...
