Yeah, they have degraded it. So, there are 7.3 (on 16th of Jan) and 7.4 (on 15th of Jan) EQs now.

There are 2 scales, one is Richter one is Mercalli . I am not sure how this works but this could explain the 2 values..

I don't know but wouldn't a 9 cause the earth to "ring" like the Sumatra earthquake? They said that earthquake made the earth wobble I would think if this were a 9 it would do the same right?
