If our job is to stay alive, then all of us are going to fail. Nobody gets out of this life, alive.

Death is just a part of life. Our atoms go back into the system and become other things.

This discovery does open up the possibilities of eternal life however since all information in a hologram are retained.

You know there are certain things one can do that could be considered as not cool to do. One is try to understand the why, or the science behind this creation. But again, I think since we are so close to the culmination, and with all of the scientific evidence pointing in the direction of intelligent creation, many are asking, or at least thinking these things.

The one that I am reading right now is called, "The Black Hole War". It's about Susskind's theories about black holes and the preservation of information.

He had a bet years ago with Stephen Hawking about whether information was preserved after matter was destroyed in a black hole. Hawking said no. He explained his position in, "A Brief History of Time".

In "The Black Hole War", Susskind explains his position, which was later verified and he won his bet.

The place that I am at in the book is all about the information of 3-D matter being stored on the 2-D surface of the event horizon of a black hole. If this experiment is verified, it will represent experimental confirmation of Susskind, on a Universal scale. He will probably win a Nobel Prize for it, if this experiment pans out.

That would be a good argument if He had never revealed Himself. But He did, and is still revealing to those who are worthy...I know who is worthy? I can't say, all I know is each living soul encapsulated in this living body, be it energy field, or whatever, is given a chance to prove their allegiance to Him.

Obviously, much more to the story. But we were given all we needed, and now our own scientists are starting to figure out the how of it, but not the why.

I have some trouble with your analogy. You do realize don't you, that every gazell is eventually eaten by the lion? The gazell's only hope of saying alive is to be faster than the others.

So, eventually every gazell dies, just as we all will die. There is no way to avoid death.

As far as eternal life goes, the idea of a giant Universal hologram might indicate that the concept of an eternal after life, may in fact be possible.

We are all made of nothing technically but the fact remains that there is an actuality of our physical existence no matter how granular it appears when magnified. We just don't understand it yet. The fact is space and time exist and so do you (consciousness). Space and time are in everything and makes up everything. All matter is made up of space including quantum particles and space is technically nothing. I believe that the natural order of the Universe was engineered but I wouldn't stretch it to say its a hologram perhaps something similar.

I tend to agree. If 2012 is anything special perhaps it is the beginning of a new understanding. Maybe we'll make first contact publicly sometime in 2012. It might even be judgment day...are we worthy enough to enter the cosmos as judged by our cosmic neighbours or has our technology advanced so much so that it is inevitable that we're moving into the cosmos but our peaceful nature is still severely retarded that we on 2012 pose a great risk to the rest of Universe and "they" must take action to defend themselves? I truly believe we are our own worst enemy. If even one of us on this planet still has the fanatical inclining to committing suicidal terror as of Dev 21, 2012 I think we may be judged still as a huge risk to the our Universal neighbours and the natural order of things out there because perhaps the technological knowledge to cause Universal hardship is simpler than we think. By 2012 we as planet, as a people (diverse but one), must be far more enlightened and truly achieve global peace because the alternative is annihilation...maybe. We'll have to see.

What we need to do now is to make a serious attempt to connect science and philosophy. According to Indian religious philosophy and the writings of ancient sages, the universe has always existed - the steady state theory as we know it - and wasn't born out of any physical processes, like the Big bang.

According to their philosophy written thousands of years ago, the ultimate power (God?) in this multitude of universes is projecting (Holographic projection?) countless universes at a time which lasts for countless ages. The power then 'rests' for trillions of years to 'rejuvenate' after which 'His' consciousness projects more universes starting the process all over again.

Now what is this 'ultimate power'? We term it as God. Could it be a multi- dimensional super consciousness at work here that is much beyond our understanding and comprehension - until we graduate into thinking in more dimensions than the present four?

In other words, what the scientists are now trying to discover was known to Indian sages thousands of years ago! So the need of the hour is to figure out some formula for combining philosophy with science! In other words, a real theory of everything!

I am not sure how to prove this. But I am thinking of the sun shifting magnetic fields or a complex system of magnets. Rather a division of cells that reproduce, the force behind creation for what it is, the act of reproduction and creation.

This is NOT a discovery at all. It's a theory and NOTHING more.

So many people on this forum make the fundamental mistake on confusing theory as fact.

The language used is by no means a confirmation of anything. And - believe it or not, black holes are still unproven. It may come as shock to many of you but there are just as many astrophysicists that don't subscribe to the theory of black holes as there are that do.

It's quite likely that black holes are merely a gap in the understanding of our universe and at the end of the day, this theory of a holographic universe relies on black holes being a real phenomena.

There's a very large disparity between unproven theories and reality - and it appears that a reality check is what many people need.
