Just read that Wal-Mart is recalling millions of pairs of Chinese made "Rose Colored Glasses" that were sold last year. Apparently these glasses contained toxic amounts of hope and promise that lead to a pandemic of disappointment.

I find it hilarious to see that many Obama critics have decided what we Obama supporters think, thought, feel and why we voted for him, and what we now are thinking and feeling. It's comical, really.

And the truth is, the ONLY time constraint I remember from all of the Obamastuff I heard was to have our combat troops out of Iraq within 16 months after he took office. And he also said that may not happen on time if it doesn't happen responsibly.

Weren't you LISTENING? Apparently not.

I have a feeling that the 24-hour news cycle has shortened people's patience level to an incredible degree. Here it is a week before his inauguration and everyone's having a tantrum over what he's NOT doing yet!
DOn't you see how funny that is???

And you accuse US of drinking Kool-aid? What? Because we have common sense? Because we have reasonable expectations? Because we realize that NO ONE (Not even Obama) can wave a magic wand and fix everything? Because we listened to what he said instead of what we wanted to hear?

I'm telling you, it's not Obama supporters who are shocked, surprised and stunned. Look around.

Its called MSM...Massive Sheeple Manipulator. And Obama used it to its maximum MSM effectiveness. A fine example of how easy it is to use media to control, manipulate, sway and program sheeple to do what their will desires.

The phrase "bought it hook, line and sinker" is an understatement.

Cheers!!!!

The point myself and many other people keep trying to make is that it's not about Bush or Obama, Republicans or Democrats, they're all on the same team, they're all bought and paid for by the same people. They receive and execute their orders and that's it. So, whenever I will critizice something Obama says or does it won't be an attack on the person Barack Obama but on the establishment that owns him and guides his actions. People just need to break out of this false paradigm and stop falling for this staged 'Republicans vs Democrats' infighting. The only difference between the outgoing and incoming administration is the fact that Barack will be able to sell virtually everything to the majority of the public while Bush or McCain probably wouldn't have gotten away with anything.

The fact is, the desperation of this situation wasn't known when these promises were made.

I fully expect Obama to be like every other politician and neglect some of the more daring promises. But we have to also accept that he is now in a position to know things that he was not aware of before.

While I do agree that every politician does the same, who are any of us to truly know what they have discovered for themselves since winning an election?
Any of us could state any glorious plan we like, but until we have all of the information at our disposal, none of us couldn't guarantee any of it.

I'm not defending him if in fact he's just decided to not pursue some important things, but he didn't know what he does now.

Spoken like a 'true politician'!!

"Any of us could state any glorious plan we like, but until we have all of the information at our disposal, none of us couldn't guarantee any of it."

But I thought the Messiah was Omnipotent?!! (All Knowing)

And by the way you are defending him! Go on, Make more excuses!

I wouldn't feel this way if Barry had not acted like such a pompous Ass throughout the entire election! Don't worry there is more to come! Wait for it! I am sure the show is just beginning!!

No, actually... what I find so funny is that you see fit to speak for everyone who supported Obama
We're you appointed as his electorate spokesperson?

The reason why he's being grilled is because the guy hasn't even taken office yet and those of us with a functioning brain can see what a huckster this clown really is.

Perhaps YOU have a reasonable expections - however, after reading your rapid-fire posts to protect your new king, I'd say not
We SAW and HEARD the Obama supporters on the news saying things like, "Now that Obama is elected, I won't have to worry about my mortgage or car payment." Remember those? WE DO!!!

Of his three big campaign slogans; Change, hope and believe... only one remains viable - Hope! 'Cause ain't nothing gonna change and you can believe that the sheeple are gonna be disappointed. But, since "hope" is some obtuse notion that lives in the future, it cannot be destroyed. At least not yet... Let's give Barry a little time. He may just find a way to destroy that too!

I find it kind of funny that people go through this 'cycle' whenever an election is completed.

It seems as if Americans are so brainwashed as to have completely forgotten that the point of campaigning is to make people believe in you and your vision. (Although I think it would be better form to admit outright that you should be posturing it as your "party's" vision... but that affects the marketing aspect).

It is a forgone conclusion, in my opinion, that the words spoken by ANY candidate are 'sales pitches' and NOT 'promises'. Much of what is said during campaigning is the result of efforts by MANY participants, not just the candidate. Yet for some reason we all seem to pretend that it's all "Obama" or "McCaine" who comes up with the stuff they say (or avoid discussing).

Yes .. koolaide ... and it's not because Obamatrons 'have common sense' ... but because Obamatrons have a severe LACK of common sense.

1 - I didn't vote for McCain and I'm not a sore loser.
My guy wasn't going to win and I knew that when I pushed the button.

2 - Telling the truth about a politician doesn't make someone a 'sore loser'. That rhetoric is just what obamatrons use to hide behind when the facts come out about 'The One'.

It's a very strange thing - even their personalities have changed. That is what gets them the Obamatron label - no matter what they say to the contrary.

ON TOPIC

Obama cuts back on his promises.
Typical politician. No hope. No change. No unity.

- makes impossible promises during the campaign.
- people actually believe the promises.
- he gets the nomination.
- he starts to scale back his promises.
- he gets elected.
- he scales back even more .. to the point that the promises he got elected on are almost gone.

Just like any other politician. No difference.

whoever is in office DOES make a difference. habeus corpus was done away with by republicans, the 4th amendment gutted by the republicans. the republicans expanded the federal deficit from 9 trillion to 12 trillion in the 6 years of a republican congress and a republican president. budget cuts and manpower cuts were carried out for almost all of the agencies, charged to regulate corporate malfeacence. the DOJ was filled with republican polictical hacks, assigned to go after democratic politicians and avoid republican politicians trangressions. 9 billion in cash disappeared, no investigation, nothing said. katrina cleanup still not done.
5 murdered by weaponized grade anthrax, alleged suspect killed by suicide, case closed. and of course lying about the reason to go into iraq.

While I think I'd probably make a better spokesperson for Obama supporters than all the others here who are speaking for us, I can't possibly speak for "everyone who supported Obama". I am speaking of the people I have talked to, emailed and otherwise communicated with.

Read the thread again. It's the other posters saying what "we" feel and think.

The reason why he's being grilled is because the guy hasn't even taken office yet and those of us with a functioning brain can see what a huckster this clown really is.

So, you think my brain isn't functioning? Interesting observation.

after reading your rapid-fire posts to protect your new king,

I can't possibly protect Obama. He doesn't need me to protect him from the likes of you. No, my posts here are to share my opinions and thoughts, just like everyone else.
Just like you.

We SAW and HEARD the Obama supporters on the news

You saw it on the news, huh?
Of course I remember that ONE little snippet. If people have jobs, they don't worry about these things. Obama's plan includes as much as 4.1 million jobs. Without knowing the woman, we have no idea what the context is. But I see, you feel qualified to speak for her as well...

What people? Who are you talking about? Can you back this up? Who used to be smart and is now a "sheeple" with a changed personality?

Who are YOU speaking for?

I think Peggy the Moocher is typical of the average Barack Obama supporter. They believe from here on out life will be one big, free ride. Unfortunately they're in for a shock! Not only will their circumstances fail to improve, but will actually get worse.

As Michelle Obama stated: "he’ll never allow you to sit idly by again, he will never allow you to be unengaged." Translation.. You will work for everything you get; the free ride is over. Instead they can look forward to forced work camps, soup lines, and massive homelessness.

It's a brave, new World we're facing.. So good luck to us all, for we shall need it in the days, months, and years ahead.

Thats the problem..some of you just jump off the assumption cliff thinking we supported Obama's opposition. Well guess what my assuming friend...I didnt vote for either of the two, Obama or McCain. If there was a worthy independant on the ticket, I would have voted for that candidate.

Assuming the saint Obama is going to be the US savior is just setting yourselves up for a mighty big dissapointment. Already he has nigged on his initial promises and done things that were against his campaign speeches and promises.

And thats all they are, promises. Promises are like holes....everyone has em..in more places than one...including up in the brain bucket.
(ECHO...ECHO....)

Oh, how could I forget all those Democrats standing up trying to prevent the invasion into Iraq? Poor Hilary, she fought so hard.
But I'm digressing, I don't want to get into that debate again.

And some of you jump off the cliff assuming we are shocked and stunned by this article and that we think Obama is some sort of a saint or savior... (See below.) How can you possibly be so hypocritical as to point out someone's assumptions and then in the next sentence make such a glaring and incorrect assumption yourself?

Who here thinks OR HAS EVER THOUGHT that Obama is a saint or savior??? Show of hands, please?

Have you guys heard of "projection"?

Just do a search here at the ATS site and find the numerous threads about it.

Review all those news video's of the entranced people as the great saint stands behind the podium making those speeches.

Doesnt matter to me, I didnt vote for Obama, didnt put any faith in a newbie, and dont expect anything significant either. Just pointing out the obvious.

2nd line.

He is absolutely perfect in your eyes!! Go back and read your post!

And when you can get all of the sand out of your hair, maybe then you will be able to see things more realistically!
