I'M JUST CURIOUS, IS ALL, as to if anyone besides myself, remembers, or belonged to, a (now VERY obscure) little ufo 'organization', run by two NYC cops, Pete Mazzola and Jim Fillow, who I -believe- both---of them died, not long after running this ufo club, of theirs. I was a member of it from 1979-to-198(1-or-2). Mazzola had a brain tumor, but I hear, died in a horrifically violent freak traffic accident.

The S.B.I. was not a UFO "club".It was an organization comprised of over 1,000 Police Officers.Jim Fillow and Pete Mazzola were convinced that cops were reporting unusual air traffic (or more) while on duty. Mazzola and Fillow advocated scientific inquiry and often relied on Dr. J. Allen Hynek who they met at A U.N.program for advise. The story goes the they were set up by the goverment for being the recipient of goverment properity(gieger counters) and told to where to send there police reports on future sightings. Fillow refused and departed the organization. Mazzola played ball for a while which may have cost him his life.

The story goes that Jim Fillow believed that the set-up was arranged by Dr. Hynek.Fillow had stressed more than once in public lectures that the subject of UFOs had become to hot once police officers actually got involved.

Jim Fillow thought the government would shut them down once the cops reporting of solid UFO sighting became "unmanageable"for them.Fillow may have been right and got out of the line of fire just in time.
